You must put them together, but they are easy to assemble. Comes with instructions. Lamp shades are rolled up and you must wrap around the lamp brackets to attached. Overall, it was easy.

These lights are really pretty, but the shades are a pain in the butt!First the calibration on the Velcro to the hoop machine was off so the Velcro was partially on the hoop and the sticky stuff was everywhere. Two thumbnails later I finally decided to grab some GooGone to remove the rest of the adhesive, then used the back of a utility blade to try to scrape the crud out of the Velcro itself. Attaching the actual shade to the hoops that’s another fiasco! There are two separate hoops, that do not join to each other, the only thing that attaches the hoops to each other is the actual shade that you’re trying to put on the two hoops…Do yourself a favor and save three hours and just buy new shades! Once the shades are finally put together they look fine except for the small indentation on it because they are not taunt. Fortunately, I was able to put the indentation in an area where I won’t see it all the time.…not to the wall unfortunately but to the side.When putting the actual light together, you’ll need two hands to feed the cord through the body. I rested the base of the lamp against my stomach as I used both hands/fingers to equally feed the cord through from top to bottom. ~ It’s already ran through the base, but it’s not totally assembled because of shipping and they have the cord pulled through and packed so that the top where the lightbulb attaches doesn’t break or damage anything. (Speaking of shipping whoever packed these deserves a gold star! I want them to pack my suitcase for my next vacation!) Also, the Styrofoam that they use is a softer Styrofoam that breaks easily and makes a mess when you’re unpacking. When I open the box there was already Styrofoam balls broken off, I immediately went to the garage to remove everything and am I’m glad I did!The decor of my home is more of a contemporary/transitional type of vibe. I put these in my bedroom and they really made everything feel cozy and relaxed, the shades really muted the brightness of the lights which is really nice in there. I think these will go with most decor, including farmhouse, but not too sure about shabby chic. The lights are automation friendly for plugs and bulbs. They are really super nice lights with a padded base so they won’t scratch your furniture. If it wasn’t for the hassle of the shades, they would definitely be a five star product! I’m glad I got them, and even happier that I don’t have to mess with the shades anymore. Lol

I got these lamps hoping that they would open up so i could fill them with shells but they do not . I can say that they were packaged well and I did have my daughter help me assemble them. you need to pull the cord through the lamp to finish the assembly and I needed the extra set of hands to get it even. overall I do like them and they are 3 way dimmable.

Perfect lamps for my guest bedroom, super luxurious and great for the price. Easy to build
