Q: Hi would this work as a thimble too?

I don't think it would be a very effective thimble because it has holes on one side (for ventilation I think!) and a larger hole at the top of the other side so if you have long, beautifully manicured/painted nails, the nail can peek out through the top of the needle grabber quite safely without tearing it. In addition, I'd say the material this product is made of is not strong enough to withstand pushing a needle through fabric such as you need from a thimble. I use a Clover Protect and Grip Thimble and find this very good. Hope that helps.

Yes, it makes it so much easier to pull the needle through the material. They really help me, I use them all the time when sewing. Hope this helps you.
