Awesome little flush mount LED fixture!
These are awesome, they're designed to be installed in steps for step lighting, but I mounted a pair in the wall on either side of a door leading to a deck. They provide a nice down-lighting effect on the deck - and since they are 3000K they blend in with all of the other warm house lighting. The fixture itself is really interesting as well, you wire to the frame of the fixture and then just snap the fixture into place - it makes contact with the frame for electrical current.

Great product, easy install and looks fantastic
Got these to replace my aging stair lights to my basement. Really good light and easy to install. The clip on fronts eliminates unseemly screw heads and make it very easy to get in to the fitting and adjust as needed. LED lights are bright and you get everything you need for full install.

Nice warm light, brighter than expected!
We ordered these lights for the stairways in our house that is currently under construction. It is very important to us that the color temperature of all the lights match, so these being 3000K made them an easy choice. Since the house is still under construction, we wired one up in place of an existing outlet where we live now. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of light they put out, and the color is nice and warm. We left it on all night and the next morning it was only slightly warm to the touch. They ARE dimmable, so if the light ends up being too bright we can always add a dimmer to the circuit for a fully custom brightness. Of course I can't speak to longevity yet, but when we get them installed I'll come back and add photos and an update. Installation does require an electrical box, but otherwise they are easy to install with a simple Hot-Common-Ground three wire hookup. All wire nuts and hardware is included in the box. Nice lights, great price, delivered quickly and as described.Addendum, three years later and these lights are still going strong. We leave them on 24/7 and they haven't skipped a beat.

A Nice LED Fixture, but not Perfect
I picked up three of these fixtures to replace three older LED step lights that I installed on our main staircase a few years back. They worked well but had a green tint to the light that we never liked, and while they were also designed to fit into a single gang box, they were not as attractive as these. The face plates of these step lights are very nice looking when the lights are off, and they provide a mostly downward cast of light when they're on. As others have mentioned, they are pretty bright... much brighter than the ones I replaced.I have them installed with one at the top of the stairs, one on the landing 11 steps down, and one another 7 steps further down at the bottom of the stairs. All are installed in the trim on the wall side of the open stairs, about 3" up from the floor, so they cast a light down and effectively across the steps. The old LED lights produced just enough light to find your way safely up or down the stairs with no other light; these definitely provide more light and three is certainly sufficient. Since the staircase is open, the lights are almost too bright if you look up at the middle and upper ones when standing on the lower floor. I may, as one other reviewer mentioned, add a little something over the diffuser to dim them a bit. I pondered installing a dimmer since these are advertised as dimmable, but I have them connected to a solar cell on an adjacent room wall and I'd have to place the dimmer there since I don;t really want to tear up anything to place another box. So I think it would be simpler just to add a little something inside the fixtures to reduce the light level. My wife also suggested we may want to make a diffuser red or green for the holiday season! The reason I'm rating these lights 4 stars is because of the way the face place mounts to the frame underneath. It's both a little finicky, it can be very difficult to get a nice fit against the mounting surface, and it's very difficult to eliminate any light leakage around the edges. Using a slighter thicker gasket (made of lightweight weather stripping) solves the second issue, but it would be nice to have a little adjustability in the design for affixing the face plate. My particular installation was a bit of a pain, since I had installed remodel electrical boxes at the light locations when I built the wainscot running up the stairs. These boxes have four exposed corner tabs that form part of the mounting system along with the two rotating legs behind the box that tighten them in place. The four tabs are almost 1/16 thick, and while they have no impact on normal electrical face plates, they caused the face plates of these lights to sit that same distance away from the wall. The frame holding the LEDs and the power supply inside the fixture lays on top of these tabs when you install it, and the face plate is designed to sit flush with that frame with absolutely no adjustability. So I ended up having to remove the three boxes, chisel out a 1/16 recess for each of the tabs, and then install the lights. So a 5 minute job per light became a 20 minute messier job per light. That said, even installing these lights in a normal box could be challenging if the box is either recessed slightly into the wall or protrudes out from it. A design that would accommodate this type of thing would be much nicer.Other than this issue and perhaps what may be an excessive amount of light for some installations, we really like the look of these lights and the face plates are of good quality. We only have a few nights of run time on them so far, so I have no idea how well they'll hold up with time. They consist of six individual LEDs, so there may be some failure tolerance (although they would produce less light as LEDs fail) if they are running in parallel... didn't check that. Of course if the power supply fails then the light is dead. The light color could be a tad warmer if you prefer a warmer yellow cast, but they're not overly white. Bottom line: there are some drawbacks, but I'd recommend these.

Giving this 5 stars- Not because it's the best but it's very good for what it is
Giving this 5 stars- Not because it's the best but it's very good for what it is . It is the least expensive 110V good quality LED step light available-I am in the SF, Ca. market where every new or remodeled house or condo seems to have a few of these step lights- whether needed or not- it the trend. The most common run about $80/each. I need about 64 for the various projects I've gotten into. which if at 110v AC have to be in an enclosure- usually a 2x4 junction boxThis one is $5 cheaper than what I think is a similar one from Royal Pacific and puts out a nice even diffuse light (see the pics).Others, I've tested: cheaper RP, Sunco, Halo,Elco are nowhere near the quality and are unacceptable for my purposes.Yeh, I bought this on my own, and I hate writing!

Cloudy Bay Outdoor Step Light
I purchased 5 of the Cloudy Bay Step lights for the staircase going up to our back porch. The install was easy enough by first cutting out the square holes for a mounting box running the appropriate 14/2 wiring and connecting it to a WIFI switch so that the lights can be programmed to come on at specified times. Once the boxes were wired and in place it took no more than 30 minutes to complete the installation. The results look great and the finished look is refined. When the lights are on they tend to be too bright and are blinding. I remedied this by installing a rheostat to the circuit and was able to dim the lights to a level that works well. Overall I am very happy with these lights.

Safety is most important as we age.
In two weeks one out of four stopped working. Hopefully just a fluke. But the look is amazing, safely allow parents and grandparents to see coming in and out at night. These are all cement stairs so initial installation or rough in was difficult but well worth it.

Expensive but good
A bit on the expensive side I would say but they are very nice on the landing of our staircase.

Disappointed
After 3 months the LED’s are fading . I emailed the company still no reply. The profit is nice but I would like a replacement on the faded one. Package says last 27 yrs for the LED’s. I didn't expect last only 3 months. With a no reply!
