Pure Natural Tung Oil, also known as China Wood Oil, is made from the pressed seed of the Chinese Tung Nut Tree. It gives a superior finish to linseed oil, which tends to leave a surface film and degrade and darken with age. Tung Oil has a smooth clear, low sheen finish that penetrates and nourishes wood, before sealing and providing a long lasting and hard wearing water resistant barrier. Known for its long-term elastic properties, Tung Oil is able to move and flex as wooden surfaces and furniture expand and contract with age and changing temperature. Tung Oil is naturally water, food and alcohol resistant. It is safe for food contact when dry and can be used for salad s and chopping boards. It is certified EN71 toy safe. Y ADVICE: Nut extract, may cause ic reaction. Being easy to work with and maintain, Pure Chinese Tung Oil is extremely versatile and can be used on almost any wooden surface, including interior and exterior furniture, skirting boards, gates, children's play areas, kitchen worktops and food preparation areas etc. Surface preparation. Ensure surfaces are clean and dry. Not suitable for varnished or sealed wood. Best applied with a lint-free cloth. Thin first two coats on new wood 50:50 with white spirit to aid absorption. Use a circular or figure of eight pattern to work into the wood untill it stops absorbing. Leave 20 minutes then wipe off all excess. Apply one or two unthinned coats in a similar manner. Allow 24 hours between coats. Allow up to 4 days to through dry. Pure Tung Oil is a natural product and contains no artificial driers. Coverage 10-15 sq. metres per coat.
