Works as advertised.
Like the others on here - we were getting really bad damp. We have a three bedroom house and every morning the windows were soaking wet. Mould grew on the metal frames, and spread to the plaster and it was ruining the walls and the curtains. We had to wash them off on a regular basis but it never stopped forming, no matter what we left open or for how long.We bought the Drimaster and I installed in the loft. I hung it from a rafter with the included cord, and wired it into the loft light. For the first day we didn't notice much difference but then the condensation just disappeared. Despite using the bathroom as normal, and not opening the doors / windows any more than normal, and through cold and wet snaps, the windows were dry and stayed dry. The mould is starting to die off and I imagine the next time I clean it off, it will stay away. The unit is quiet - there's a barely-audible rumble if you're near the loft hatch - and it's on the default "3" speed setting. Installation was easy (I just cut a hole in the loft hatch and installed it into that - it works fine, even with all the upstairs doors shut). It doesn't make the downstairs any colder than normal but the upstairs corridor feels cooler, a bit like having a bathroom window open all the time which is exactly how it works. There's a gentle breeze coming from the vent if you put your hand up to it, but you can't feel air movement otherwise. It's not a cheap solution but a damn sight cheaper than scraping mould off walls and repainting, or replacing all the windows. The neighbours are now interested in buying one the same in their house, which is a mirror-image of ours.

Stopped condensation overnight. Fabulous product.
We have a two bedroom bungalow and as soon as temperatures start to drop outside the windows are running in the morning. We used a dehumidifier and had a window vac to dry them off every day but it was a constant battle. Found a website that recommeded these and after reading a few articles decided to go for it. Best decision ever. It arrived on a Thursday and we fitted it that evening, took about half an hour to fit and luckily we have a socket in the loft so didn't need to wire it in. We set it to the second setting and wondered if it would really make a difference. Next morning the windows were dry. We kept thinking it was a coincidence but after two weeks of dry windows and no condensation on the toilet cistern (and we've had snow too) we are converted. You cannot feel cold air blowing out of it unless you put your hand right next to it and it is silent. Also the foisty smell in some of the cupboards has gone. This is the link to the website where I discovered it [...] well worth a read. The Dehumidifier and window vac are now redundant. This product is brilliant.

Working
Updated after using it for a month...I’d heard great things about these. It was reasonably easy to install, even for a technical ignoramus like me. Good luck getting an electrician to wire this up, I had to do it myself but have heard of people putting it on a plug, ok if you have a socket in the loft. Hole was easy to cut, you get a stencil and I used a jigsaw. It’s quite quiet when it’s working (and it’s meant to be switched on all the time). The vent tubing was quite difficult to attach to the machine and diffuser, there is a technique and a knack with this.Yes, it works to a great extent. If you have to do things in your house like air laundry or have a lot of wet towels etc (who doesn’t?) then it probably won’t cut down your condensation to nothing. Also if you have thick blackout curtains, as the air must be able to circulate freely. After a month and upping the fan speed, it has cut down a lot on the condensation. It does make the landing/stairs and upstairs rooms quite cold, so a compromise is needed. Ideally you could vary the speed during the day. The controls are inconveniently located under the vent cover, so to change the speed of the fan, you have to get on a ladder and remove the cover of the diffuser to access the controls! There is a ‘LINK’ model that has a control unit for the hallway, had I known about it I’d have got that instead.I think this thing is ok, bearing in mind the price (and what you get for the money is basically a fan with a tube), I’d expect perfectly dry windows. Ok it does filter the air, and keeps out most smells from the loft. I use an open fire and it does leave a smell up there but it has not yet been pumped into the house by this fan. It may cut down in dust slightly but haven’t noticed that so far.

WOW IT REALLY WORKS
Not usually one for writing reviews but this is a game changer. Suffered with condensation and water running down the windows for years. damp wet walls and black mould. Installed this myself a week ago and since then no condensation and walls are dry to the touch. There is a slight chill near the diffuser but a small price to pay for the results. Ours is set to 4 in a 3 bed house and you can't hear it and we sleep with bedroom doors open practically silent compared to the dehumidifier we've been using for years and miles cheaper to run and gives 100% better results. Can't recommend highly enough.

Dry as a bone
Easy to install. Started working, (noticeable difference in condensation levels), overnight. Area under the grille, (installed top of stairs), is cooler, but fresher. Colder days are more noticeable, but is not intolerable and weighed with the fact the house is a lot more dryer, is just a minor nuisance. No noticeable increase to electric bill, ( we have the simple model without electric heater).Condensation reduced, upstairs in all bedrooms and bathroom, by 90% on the coldest days/nights - 100% on warmer days/nights. Before we installed this, the windows and external walls, were running with water. Black mould growing everywhere. All now banished, (after 3 months use).Slight noise when underneath on setting 3, (3 bed semi).Have recommended to friends with same condensation issues.
