This is a classic that I'll be passing onto my daughter if she wants to homeschool! It's THAT good.
This is not just another book on how to homeschool; this is a book of truth, encouragement, and wisdom for the homeschooling mom. When we are homeschooling moms, we're more than just moms -- we are teachers, wives, homemakers, and women. It's a LOT to juggle and it's easy to get burnt out from overwhelm. You will NOT find the suggestion that you need to do it all and do it all perfectly. Instead, you'll find the reassurance that you can't and the wisdom to know when to focus on what part of your life so that you can be fully present where you are needed, when you are needed. This is such a necessary piece of wisdom for us today!Amber Fox writes from a place of experience (7 kids!) and with gentle compassion to those of us walking this path. Just like Sarah Mackenzie so graciously encouraged us in her must-read Teaching From A Place of Rest and Sally Clarkson spoke to our hearts in The Mission of Motherhood and also Educating The Wholehearted Child, so Amber speaks to us about what truly matters. The author shares encouragement and practical, hands-on wisdom that will help homeschooling moms whether they are just starting out, or have been on the journey for a decade or more. As a homeschooling mom of 8, with my oldest nearly done with high school, I didn't think there was much left to learn honestly. But Amber Fox spoke to me as a wife, as a daughter of God, as a mom, as a homemaker, AND as a homeschooling parent.I'll be ordering this in print as soon as it's ready to tuck away for my daughter and future daugthers-in-law should they choose to homeschool one day. This is also going to be my go-to gift for friends who are starting their journey. This is the book you wish you had when you were getting started, can still benefit from today, and will return to over and over again.

A wonderful resource for parents AND grandparents!
Amber's book would be one of my top resources if I were still rearing children. But even, as a grandmother, I am picking up some wonderful ideas to help my grandsons grow spiritually. The book is well organized and her personal life applications bring meaning to the concepts about which she writes. Amber lives "in the trenches" where life is lived. She is authentic about her struggles and challenges. "The Homeschooling Housewife" would make wonderful gifts to parents, even if they are not homeschooling. And grandparents who are actively engaged with their grandchildren would benefit from having this book in their personal libraries.

Very good information
This book gives details to help any homeschooling mom. I recommend it to anyone who is homeschooling or thinking about homeschooling. I raised 3 sons on homeschooling. I recognized a lot of what Amber Fox is talking about. She does have a lot of ideas and plans that I had never thought of. I had no choice but to home-school my sons because we were missionaries. It was the most rewarding time. I learned so much teaching. Thank you Amber for your ideas and work.

Like chatting with a wise homeschooling mom friend
The Homeschooling Housewife by Amber Fox is a book every Christian homeschooling mom should have on her shelf (or her ereader!). Amber is a gifted teacher and writer and her book is engaging and helpful without being preachy. The book is well organized and covers a variety of topics related to homeschooling and homemaking. In it, you will find Biblically sound advice for all the most important areas of your life, from your relationship with God, husband, and children, to keeping a tidy and orderly home, to cultivating godly friendships, to managing your finances wisely. The encouragement and wisdom contained in this book will give you that guidance you need on those really tough days (we all have them!) and reassure you to keep focused on what is most important in your life.As a homeschooling mom of 8 with over 18 years experience teaching my own children at home, I have learned a few things about homeschooling and raising kids. This book reminded me of things I had overlooked in my homeschooling efforts. But it also gave me some new things to think about and some really fun and creative ideas to try in my own home. I’ve read a lot of books on homeschooling and homemaking over the years—some were great, some were just okay. This book definitely falls into the “great” category. Throughout the book, I discovered wonderful gems of wisdom and insight that will be a huge help to me in my homeschooling efforts going forward. I highly recommend this book to any mom who is homeschooling or even considering homeschooling. You will find this book a huge asset and encouragement.

My wife loves this book!
I ordered this book for my wife because I know how hard it is for her to balance everything. This is what she had to say about the book:This book is amazing! It offers practical tips and helps for managing it all. Amber Fox offers helps on juggling marriage, kids, friends, and managing the home from a Christian perspective. The conversational way she writes makes reading the book easy and helpful. This book is obviously great for homeschooling moms, but even moms who don't homeschool could benefit. As moms, our lives are chaotic, and we could all use help in juggling everything!

This is a wonderful book. If you have ever thought of homeschooling your children or if you are a working parent struggling to find time to get things done. It can relate to you, too.

Juggling it all, an Excellent read!
Juggling it all one priority at a time. Exactly right! This book covers the priorities we have, and does an excellent job of lining them up in a Biblical way. Its full of practical advice, no nonsense included! I would recommend this book to all housewives, whether they work away from or stay home, homeschool or not. While the examples used center around homeschooling, it's easy to translate into most other situations! There's only 1 chapter that is specifically about homeschooling, the others cover your relationship with God, marriage, friends, housekeeping, church, finances, etc.The goal here isn't how to do it all, all the time. It's about organization of priorities, so you can be present in each one, when it's supposed to be the focus.

Exactly the encouragement I needed, with real, actionable tips and advice too.
This book is exactly like talking to a wise, experienced Titus 2 mentor. She sits down at your table, ignores the mess and the loud kids, hands you a mug of something warm and yummy, and gives you the best advice on homeschooling, motherhood, and marriage you've ever been given. So many books these days are filled with " give yourself grace" encouragement and not much else. Grace is good, but doesn't help me get get the laundry done and dinner on the table! Mrs. Fox's book is full of grace and love, while also providing actionable advice and tips from her experience as a large family homeschool mom. It's exactly what I needed, and I plan to come back to it often.
