VHC Psoriasis Lotion, Coal Tar Solution, 4-Ounce Bottle

This is the only product I've ever tried that actually cleared up my elbows. I was hopeful after reading the reviews and SO HAPPY to discover it really worked for me. I've had psoriasis on my elbows pretty badly through most of my 20s and 30s and it always made me so self-conscious. I was always struggling to find tops and dresses with long sleeves to cover it up and had gotten to the point where I thought I might never feel comfortable in a sleeveless top again. Everything changed after I ordered the Oxipor. It's been almost a year now since I bought my first bottle and I'm just now coming back to order a second bottle after finally running out. It took 2 or 3 weeks of consistent use to start seeing noticeable results, and the difference was dramatic within a couple months. My skin is not completely clear (i.e. "normal") but I would estimate it's 95% clear. The vast majority of the scaling is gone although there's one small patch (size of a pencil eraser) that refuses to fully disappear. People don't even seem to notice it anymore unless I point it out or they actually spend time studying my elbows, but otherwise it doesn't draw much attention. For the first time in over a decade I don't have to worry about my skin! I used the Oxipor several times a day in the beginning and trickled off to several times a week after my skin cleared. Every now and then I'll see the bumps coming back if I slack too much, but I've gotten almost a year of (mostly) clear skin out of that first bottle.

this very strong lotion easily removes the loose and flaky skin associated with psoriasis. it has a strong smell, something like coal tar shampoos, and requires some care in application to avoid damaging clothes. It works quickly, and stings quite a bit if applied to very open psoriasis conditions. still it leaves skin a bit smoother until the psoriasis emerges again. consider that it is restricted in california due to its known carcinogenic ingredients. probably best used less frequently than recommended. I use it only once every couple of days, and it does give some limited relief.

In my experience with psoriasis, good coal tar products have completely cleared my problem areas. Recently, I cleared a bad flare-up that persisted against treatment with Dovenex cream and even a clobetasol spray that previously worked. Neutrogena coal tar shampoo has kept away scalp problems for more than 10 years, so I decided to use it as a body soap, then apply the Oxipor product after drying off. Within a week, the newer plaques disappeared completely. Within two weeks, the old, thick plaques cleared entirely, and were left only darkly discolored. Coal tar products are very effective for me, but my doctor prefers to prescribe the newer pharmaceuticals, regardless of their actual benefit. Everyone reacts differently to different medicines, but if you try a coal tar product, I highly recommend this one. Also read the National Psoriasis Foundation on coal tar treatments.

works well for mild psoriasis.

VHC Oxipor does work... like with any medicine whether topical or taken orally, if you apply it for a prolonged time your body eventually becomes immune to the effectivity of the medicine. I have used Oxipor for over 50 years and what i do is use it to improve for a few weeks/months and then stop using it for a few weeks/months. There are other medicines out there that can be taken orally but they can cause lymphoma cancer which is not worth the risk if you weigh the hardship psoraisis can cause. Additionally being a cancer survivor myself, i would not put myself at that risk while Oxipor works for me... and even though it has a warning that it contains an ingredient that can cause cancer in the state of California, after much research, it can cause skin cancer if you use it and expose yourself to the sun which if you follow the instructions it is safe to use.... i just apply it at bedtime and never had a problem in over 50 years... and FYI, my cancer is totally unrelated to this product... HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT... Oh, i also use any body cream that is extra moist and after the Oxipor has air dried, i apply the body cream... the combination of lubricating my skin with the effect of Oxipor helps the scales to clean up faster...

After using this product on my scalp for about a week, i noticed that it helped stopped the flaking but the itchyness didn't go away completely. I used it for about 3 more weeks and didn't really help get rid of my scalp psoriasis completely.

It is very expensive and pretty darn harsh compared to other products I use as well. It makes the skin very dry which does not happen with so many other things I do use for my Psorisis. I wanted to test it out but I will stick with other products.

I'm glad I have the product, but I paid for a new one, but I was sent a used one. Hope it won't happen again! It works really well on my skin.
