Sheaffer Skrip Bottled Ink - Black

This is a smooth black ink, good coverage and with no feathering. I was disappointed with my latest purchase of Quink which seemed a lot greyer than the previous bottle, so I was looking for a really solid black to replace it. I scan my writing for a website, and need a true black with no grey, to save me having to do a lot of editing to get rid of any pale grey parts, and it has to be done with a fountain pen so I cannot use artist’s Indian Ink which would be perfectly black. This Skrip black is a very good improvement on the Quink for this particular purpose. There may be blacker blacks out there, but I cannot buy them all to find out and even then I could end up with poor flow and feathering. With Skrip I know it is quality ink with smooth flow, so I will be sticking with this. I used Skrip black in the 1970’s at college for my shorthand pens, as it was of utmost importance that it flowed well for fast writing, and it seems as good now as it was then.

I was looking for a dark black ink to use in Parker Sonnet and Lamy Safari pens, as I find cartridges are quite expensive, and I find the Parker Quink is more grey than black when dry, and I had seen good reviews of this, so I gave it a try. I have not been disappointed, as it writes black, dries black, and is very smooth to write with. It is also very reasonably priced for the excellent quality of product that it is, and I will continue to use it for years to come!

Good black ink.

A must use for Sheaffer pens and which anyone liking the smooth flow of ink instead of the sterile output of a biro will appreciate. .Quality product delivered on time and the bottle is attractive too.

Lovely ink

This is worth purchasing, keeps my Schaffer pen smooth and much better than other brands. I also dont have to clean it out that often.

Bought this ink because it is not supposed to fade (according to my daughter). I suppose only time will tell.

The ink is fine, but the bottle is a ridiculous shape. Because of the taper you just cannot pick it up without great difficulty!Reminds me of those tapered lids for jam jars that you also cannot get hold of - even with a tool!What's going on?!
