Excellent machine
Good points first. It is beautifully engineered, lots of attention to detail and a great finish to the various castings all the materials are of a good quality.Very easy to start, probably the easiest to start of any such machine I've used.Quiet again for the type of machine with very little vibration, it's a joy to use.The supplier had already assembled it and carried out a PDI so the issues that some have mentioned did not arise. To give you some context, I'm a professional gardener and in my many years have used similar machines from all the major manufacturers including the likes of Stihl etc and this is as good or better than anything I have used prior. The bad points.....no I can't think of any.

Very good function and quality
This is a great product. The engine is very easy to start, it has very little vibration and is is fairly quiet. The trimmer cuts well and isn't heavy considering its reach. It is a very long reach trimmer, which saves a lot of hassle on high hedges and bushes, but would be cumbersome for a lot of smaller / lower hedge cutting. I have only used it for a few hours, but so far the quality of the build, design and materials feel high. It is probably not quite as good as a Stihl, but in terms of relative price and value I would recommend it. I am really surprised about some of the negative reviews. I nearly didn't buy this after reading them, but I am glad that I did.

Fantastic product
Fantastic product, I was really surprised at how quiet the 4 stroke engine is compared to the 2 stroke equivalents that I have been using over the last decade. Very easy to start, well balanced so despite being a heavy tool easy and comfortable to use. Took about 30cm off a 2m high, 8m wide, 1 m deep privet hedge at the back of our garden and only needed to resort to a saw for a couple of branches. Good and very solid adjustment of head angle.

Crap
Well, where do I start?!?As a professional gardener I thought i would give this a try, only bought as Stihl went bang after 10 years. Had I known that it would have vibrated this much, it would have been cheaper to go to Ann Summers and buy a vibrating toy for a fraction of the price. Have Makita not heard of anti vibration?!? I’m guessing that the box it came in is coffin shaped so that when I get “White Finger” and have had enough of life I can just climb into this box and bury myself.Do yourself a favour, buy Stihl, this one will be given away, it’s already falling apart, the gear sometimes doesn’t engage and makes a whizzy noise, the black handle which you hold to adjust angle is flimsy and have tightened it twice within a week of it arriving, the cutting head wobbles and you’d be better of trying to cut anything over 1cn by whacking it with a wilted Pansy, apart from that the engine sounds good and starts first pull!

~~ Disapointing ~~
Very much heavier & more awkward to use than anticipated. The drive spline although as fully engaged & tightened as I can make it appears to be quite temperamental as to whether it actually drives the cutting blades! It appears that the weight & length of the whole thing may throw it out of alignment during use or otherwise disconnect the drive? You then have to stop & re-tighten / align everything & it all seems a bit 'hit & miss'. I can't go to the trouble of returning it but I may end up at an authorised dealer for some minor adjustment/repairs or 'fine tuning'? Disapointing for the money paid.

Makita top brand
On first start it would not start, I think it got flooded as after waiting 30 mins it did start. Cuts very well and is high quality and very quite in use compared to cheap units. My only gripe is that as its a long reach version its very heavy and I get tired pretty quickly, but I am not that strong, would suit a fit person I'm sure. Time will tell,

Good addition to my garden weapons
Although a little heavy when at a stretch it does what it’s supposed to very well. It’s easy using 4stroke tools avoiding fafing around mixing 2stroke fuel!

Starts fine but the bloody blades don't move
Starts fine but the bloody blades don't move, which is rather a crucial thing you to happen on a hedge cutter!

Hohe Hecke kein Problem
Sehr gute Handhabung. Selbst hohe Hecken oder auch breite lassen dich mit diesem Heckenschneider sehr gut bearbeiten. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

Fa il suo dovere
Un po’ scomodo per il cambio di inclinazione della lama.

Très bien
Taille-haie efficace. Très bon rapport qualité-prix. Seul bémol, il est lourd
