Fun putting it together, quality is subpar
Keys were sticky and ultimately doesn’t work as it should. Quality isn’t there. As it was a gift, the refund window was missed. The recipient did enjoy putting it together, it’s just quality that’s an issue

Poor quality paper finish
It is a grate kitMy daughter loved building it and it works and sounds greatBut it definitely could do with a lot more of the pegs that going into the barrel that makes the notesAnd it would have been better if it was no a paper coated wood as when we got it the paper had already started peeling and as we where building it the paper covering was dropping ofThis is a shame that a poor quality finish ruined what would have been a fantastic productKeith

Works very well
The media could not be loaded. I am a fan of these wooden model kits - in part because they keep the mind busy working out how to put it all together when most of them would prefer to be in component form during build and also as some of them look and function well. The nicknack 3D kit her fulfils both of those. The kit comes on six sheets of wood with the parts laser cut on them. Some of them are not the easiest to remove and I found a scalpel useful to 'break' the small bonds holding them in. You get a very small piece of sandpaper to finish the parts but this a no bigger than a 2p coin and is a waste of time. You really need a much larger fine grit sandpaper to smooth down the edges. There is a seventh sheet of parts which encompass the most commonly broken parts - typically not the two I broke when building, but I was able to repair the parts successfully before using them.I would recommend reading the instructions well as they are detailed but easy to misinterpret if not careful - for example on page 5 there are 4 near identical parts but if you do not pay attention to the warnings on that page, you could put the wrong part in place and then have to backtrack 2 steps later (hint here, they are very slightly different lengths). Some parts need to be waxed before fitting and this is covered in the instructions, but like the sandpaper, the amount of wax provided is far too little. Luckily for me, I had some left over from previous builds so didn't need to purchase any.Overall, I think this is a great kit. Very strong wood (except for the very thin parts) made the finished product quite sturdy. You'll need some patience, experience, and a thorough reading of the instructions before starting. Sand everything. Wax everything extra. Have fun!

Fun Music Machine
The media could not be loaded. This music box was a lot of fun to build. The parts are very accurately cut by laser and have to be pressed gently out of the boards to avoid breakage(there are very few spares provided). It is assembled without glue and each part is clearly numbered. The instructions are in the form of pictures showing exactly where each piece fits. The construction is divided up into 38 stages and you complete each stage in turn to complete it.Certain parts have to be smoothed an waxed and a piece of wax and a too small piece of sandpaper are provided(I used some I already had). Some of the pieces were a tight fit and a child might need a little help with these but applying a little wax helped to make assembly easier. The music box works by turning a handle which revolves a drum into which pegs are inserted, these pegs lift the hammers and they strike the brightly coloured metal bars that sound a musical note.A music sheet is provided with some simple tunes showing you where to place the pegs to play the correct note in the right order.I think making this would teach a child how to follow instructions ,attention to detail and dexterity all while having fun. They can also make up their own tunes giving this music box extra play value. This will get children away from the TV or games console for a few hours and they will have the satisfaction and enjoyment of having built their own music box.
