A competitive space adventure for 3 – 5 Players Have you ever wanted to follow in the footsteps of those glory hunting scoundrels flying their crate between planets to earn an honest (well, almost honest) crust? Xia: Legends of a Drift System allows you to do just that; explore a system full of planets, Asteroid fields, Jump Gates and a whole lot more. Equip your ship with state of the art engines, weapons and shields but remember to leave some room for cargo, or passengers or anything else you choose to smuggle across planetary shields in an attempt to become the most famous (or infamous) Captain in the system. Your fame can come from bounty hunting, Smuggling, trading, researching, exploring, villainy or just plain Taxying passengers from A to B. The most successful Captains will know a good opportunity when they see it and dabble in any or all of the above. If one of your fellow Captains gets too big for their boots you can always fit some missiles and send them limping back to the nearest planet for repairs. With random tile placement and 18 different ships to pilot with their own special abilities no two games will be the same. This game comes with very high quality components and 21 Pre-painted ships. Contents: 21 Painted Starship Miniatures A fully modular board with 21 unique Sector Tiles 40 Metal Coins 80 Acrylic Damage Markers 4 Dice 30 Wooden Octagonal Markers 84 Outfis tokens 5 Outlaw Tokens 75 Plastic Cargo Cubes 96 Cards 1 Full Colour 20 page Rulebook Multiple paths to victory: Be a smuggler, bounty hunter, explorer, merchant, pirate and more! A cargo Hold system. Players must manage their cargo for maximum effectiveness.

Sandbox fun
This game feels like a real passion filled, labour of love creation. The author of the rules is clearly a fan of early Elite style games and you also feel the influence of games like Eclipse in the design. However after a few games we found the sandbox nature of being able to follow very different routes to win (trade, missions, bounty hunter etc) was a little unbalanced. A few games have played out with people just going back and forth between the same two zones for the entire game. Others have left people stranded early with a random death and no easy way to pull back to be a contender to win. However on balance it is a fun experience and the components are amazing, with pre-painted models and metal credit coins. It is a very complete, well thought out package. It just needed the expansion to fix a lot of the flaws we were impacted by during play. It will get re-played but not without the expansion in play.

A good space exploration and trading game
If you like exploration / trading games this is one for you and I would highly recommend this game. Similar to the Firefly game. Quite a casual feel to the game with a fair amount of luck involved - not deeply strategic so much as generally enjoyable and fun.Cons:- Player vs player combat system is very poor and it is very difficult to outright destroy another players ship or cause sufficient damage to make player hunting a viable strategy compared to just pure mining or trading. This causes all games to be largely peaceful- We have had to create a few house rules to do with the placement of area tiles - as sometimes trade ports can be right beside locations where you mine the relevant resource or buy a resource to trade - making this an extremely overpowered way to accumulate victory points.Pros:Beautiful components & board tilesRules sufficiently complex but not prohibitively soAI characters a nice touch, adding some more sense of life to the game

Brilliant
In short this game has now been played 3 times in just under a fortnight by myself and my gaming friends. Most games don't up being duplicated in our group as after all if one person has it, you're likely to be one of the participants anyway. After the 3rd game this game has now been bought by other members of our group to make sure it is always available in case of absentees, or indeed just for the solo element (with the expansion).

Sandbox game
This game is brilliant. Do you want to be a pirate or a trader or just explore the galaxy, all is possible. The only down side is that a lot of it comes down to dice rolls which can make it a real rollercoaster. Someone losing can really catch up with a good few dice rolls.

In space no one can hear you roll the dice
Xia is a must for sandbox - like game lovers. From unboxing to rules and mechanics it's easy to learn with many examples, and the random/luck factor is super fun. Components are great, with prepainted ships, nice looking tiles, powers/card, tokens etc. Super excited as I was expecting a reprint from Far off games, I will surely get the expansions as well.PS Many thanks to Games Quest (seller) as well for their response.

One of my favorite games!
This is the best space exploration game on the market. A must for anyone who loved Wing Commander Privateer.

Perfect condition, great game. I highly advice buying the expansion for additional rules, more worthy components and the solo mode.
