As with all Mercer products I've bought, it is a quality knife at exceptional value. The handle is very comfortable and feels solidly attached. Their steel always strikes a good balance imo, it comes sharp, and it holds a sharp edge, but if you're good with your crock sticks or stones you can get it much sharper and it takes an edge fairly easily. I love the design of this specific knife for slicing meat. The blade is long, narrow, and thin, making it great for slicing up any large cut of meat, like tri tip, turkey breast, or pork belly, and I use it to cut up ribs, too. It'll slice through very tender ribs with no effort and without removing the meat, and the narrow design makes it easy to follow the curve of the rib bone. I've tried a lot of knives over the years, both less and much more expensive, and most of the ones I've kept are Mercer.
