Love this game
I gave this to a friend as a present, and we love it. The boards are beautiful, there are two with nine holes altogether, though we've found that folding them back up can be a challenge! Dice are rolled to determine the tee position, length of shot, hook, slice, and distance penalty out of rough and bunkers. Each play is different in that the player with the honour of teeing off first decides the position of the hole on the green. The game is not all luck though. Decisions to make include which path to take to the greens, how many dice to roll, how to split the results and when to play your nasty cards on an opponent. Each player is dealt a hand of cards that can be played on opponents during the game. These can make infuriating things happen - for example the delight of narrowly clearing a water hazard can be short-lived by an opponent playing a card which makes your ball roll back into the water! We haven't played it with more players yet but it supports up to six. I imagine that it works just as well with two players as it does with six. The rules are easy to pick up but we often have to refer back to them in specific situations, such as when to apply penalty strokes, but this will be straightforward for golfers.I highly recommend this game, I look forward to playing it in a larger group.

Not even funny bad!
Possibly the dullest the game i have ever played. It is almost entirely down to luck with very little skill and none of the nasty components of their horse racing game.

Not as nasty as I expected
Having bought the original Horse Racing game as a present a couple of years back and played the Motor Racing game not long before I was a bit disappointed at the lack of nastiness! The rules are a little complex for my younger children and many of the nasty cards don't get used when we play it. There is a "non-nasty" version of the game and I'm almost tempted just to play that. Still it's fun, especially if you're a golf player, but I felt not as good as the horse or motor racing versions.

Great Fun
This is a really fun game, and probably the only way a golf board game could work. Even for a keen golfer like me playing a 'straight' golf game would quickly lose interest. This is great fun, for example my mate hit two great 'shots' and needed to roll only 2 or more on the dice for a birdie which he duly did, until I played a really nasty card meaning he missed the ball and could only manage a par instead.

Light game
This is really a very good game, I do feel however that the rules could be tweaked with some house rules, but this does not mean that the present rules are bad. 6 Dice are used and only when you play the game as a normal golf game, without the nasty cards do you use the white die, as this tells you a random direction that the ball lands from the tee. I played this on my own and my other fictional opponent was well behind until the last hole, when I landed just by the lake in some rough, and it took me 16 shots to sink the ball. oooops!!The components are very well made, apart from the 'nasty cards', (at least they are being honest) which even though nicely glossy, could have been made from thicker card. I can see that eventually they will just part company from the backing and split.Don't expect a deep simulation here, just decisions before and after the dice roll, and well, just roll and move the ball.I do like it however, and the only reason for a mediocre rating, this is due for the 'nasty' feel to the cards.I have a number of games that require a lot of thought and are very deep, but this is a pleasant change from that sort of game. Not rocket science, but still very enjoyable, and I would think that with friends around, could be as evil to play as the excellent 'nasty horse racing'.I repeat the lower rating is only because of the cards. The game is very good.If anyone out there makes up more rules that make it even more interesting, I would be very interested to hear.

The Really Nasty Golf game
I bought this game for my family as a communal present. Having played and enjoyed the Really Nasty Horse Racing Game we were au fait with the set up. It was played over the Christmas period by both non golfers and golfers. I have to say I have never heard so many men laughing for so long and hysterically over a board game. It was definitely worth it if for the laughing therapy alone, I was merely a spectator this time, as all the golfers got in first. Really good value, and enjoyable - once you are ok with the rules.
