After integrating this field monitor into my photography setup, I find it to be a solid piece of kit with a few quirks. The standout feature is definitely the bright HD screen, which makes composing shots effortless, even on sunny days. I've been using it with my Canon R3 while shooting outdoor family events, and the image clarity is superb. The touchscreen responds smoothly, enhancing the overall experience.However, the build quality leaves a bit to be desired. The cold shoe pivoting bracket provided was quite stiff, so I had to replace it with a more flexible one. Also, it would have been helpful if a standard HDMI to HDMI cable were included – acquiring an appropriate cable separately was a slight nuisance. Despite these minor drawbacks, the vast array of monitoring tools like focus peaking and false colour are invaluable, significantly improving my workflow. In the end, it's a worthwhile investment for serious photographers looking to elevate their craft.

As with all things, i watched a ton of reviews before getting this so kinda knew what to expect but honestly love this thing! Originally i was looking at the Atmos Shinobi, but couldnt justify the cost so decided to explore other options and came across this. It's ideal for what I need it for, bright enough to use outside in the sun, decent battery life, connects to my ZV-E1 with no issues and can even playback footage which other monitors i've used cant. Build quality is good, screen is nice. No complaints.Also worth noting, the non 'Pro' model IS a touchscreen. In some reviews I watched, people said only the pro was touchscreen, but took a gamble as the listing said this 'standard' version was and can confirm it is.

Great monitor for the price lots of features. the only downside is only standard and mini HDMI cables supplied no HDMI micro cable, had to purchase this separately for my Canon R3 and R6.Also the mounting bracket is to stiff you can hardly move it so had to use another one I had.so I am only giving 4 stars because of issues.

I wanted it for a long time to get a field monitor for my camera setup in order to see better the live video and this Viltrox has been a great upgrade. The 5.5 inch display is very bright at 1200 nits 100 and this allows me to see everything clearly even when there is strong sunlight. The touch functionality is smooth and the screen is very responsive especially when I have to adjust its settings based on the environment where I have to film. I find the 3D lut feature used for previewing color grading directly on the monitor and this allows me to make better decisions regarding the settings of my camera. I am glad that this one has a 4K HDMI in and out because I can connect it to my Sony camera and so far I didn't experience any delay between what I see on the display of my camera and this monitor. Because I film most of the time outdoors I really appreciate that this field monitor comes with the sunshade hood because this allows me to see better on the display. It comes with a battery which lasts a good amount of time and I'm glad that I have the same batteries as replacement when I have to film long hours. The viewing angle on this monitor is great because even when I stay at around 45 degrees I can still see clearly and this saves me a lot of time because I don't have to go all the time to the camera to check if everything is in order.

works great! i had to buy micro hdmi for £20 and 2 more battery for another £25 but its great.

I bought this DC-550 monitor to use with my Nikon Z9 when shooting video as the Nikon screen is just too hard to see in bright sun. At 1200 nits it's also far better - I imagine - than the DC-550 Lite which is only 400 nits and probably too dark to see easily. For the extra money it's well worth it and I find that it does everything I want it to do. It comes with full size HDMI cables and mini-HDMI cables. My only concern is that the single supplied battery appears to be rated for around 45mins to 1 hour of life. While the monitor can be powered from an external power bank or DC source I also bought two extra Viltrox batteries and charger.Overall I rate it very highly.

Product is great, company not so much. No idea how to use it properly. I do mainly photo's all videos on YouTube talk about videos, no downloads or booklets re operation the quick start leaflet has 1 page which can be read with a microscope.Come on Viltrox wake up and do the right thing.

A very easy unit to attach to the camera - Fuji X-T5 - and set up as it came with an assortment of HDMI cables. Batteries are plentiful and relatively cheap too.I only use this for (so far) for stills photography, landscape and macro and it really aids in composition and, with Macro, it's great for manually focusing.
