Good option from Panasonic
The media could not be loaded. This is the first TV I've used with fire TV built in. It functions exactly the same as a firestick so if you've ever used one of those you'll be right at home. If it's your first smart TV then the menus and functions are very intuitive so it shouldn't be too daunting.Picture quality - Brightness and colours look decent. There's some small light bleed from the corners and side which you would expect from an LED TV. It's nothing that would distract from normal viewing. TV shows and films look very good in 4k UHD with the dolby vision automatically kicking in when watching dolby enabled content so you don't have to mess with the picture settings to get the best viewing experience..It handles gaming well and switches the picture mode to 'Game' automatically when you switch the hdmi to a playstation or other games console then switches it back to your normal setting when you turn it off. It's really intuitive.Sound quality - The one thing I like with LED panels over thinner and more expensive OLED / QLED TVs is the sound quality is always far better. This fire TV is no exception with very good sound quality and clear dialogue. You can connect it to a soundbar or external speakers but the sound is good enough that you don't need to.Design - The bezels at the front are really thin which gives the TV a premium look. The legs at the bottom are easy to fix with 4x screws. They're clearly labelled and can only fit one way so they're well designed. There's quite a large bevel at the back of the TV but it's not too intrusive and if you find yourself regularly looking at the back of the TV then you may have installed it the wrong way round.Connectivity - Around the back it has 4x HDMI ports with one eARC supported, 2x USB ports, 1x aerial in, 1x satellite in, ethernet port, optical out, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm AV mini jack. All the ports are located on the right hand side when looking at the screen with the power cable on the left hand side. The power cable is quite short at 1.5 meters so if you dont have a power socket very close you will likely need an extension cable. The power cable isn't hard wired so you could pick up a 2.5A 250v figure of 8 cable at a longer length if needed. If you're wall mounting, the VESA holes are 200 x 200 which is fairly standard for this size of TV. It's not particularly heavy so can be lifted by one person relatively easily, although I'd recommend at least 2 people to wall mount it.Connectivity via WiFi is straightforward which can be done by putting your WiFi password in via the remote or through your phone via the Fire TV app. Bluetooth pairs and connects quickly and playback via a Bluetooth speaker or headphones is clear with no delay between sound and picture. As it has Amazon fire TV built in it connects seamlessly to other amazon products you may have. It synced with my amazon account instantly and pulled all my apps and log in info from my current firestick.Software - As mentioned the TV has Fire TV built in which is straightforward to use. You don't get the range of third party apps as you do on Google TV however all the main streaming apps are included so it should be fine for the majority of people. You can sideload apps to the TV in the same way you can on a firestick if you're more tech savvy. The TV guide is handled by freeview play and it was incredibly quick to search and store channels. It was up and running in under a minute. Scrolling through the TV guide was quick with no pauses or delays.Misc.- The remote is easy to use with dedicated buttons for Netflix, amazon prime and freeview play. There's alexa built in where you hold down the mic button and provide a command. It worked well and handled instructions to play certain shows in certain apps without any issues. I really like the addition of the apps button to take you to your installed apps list along with a dedicated customisable button to open any app of perform a set function. You can even program it to provide a command to alexa. It's a decent all in one smart TV. If you're used to using a firestick or have a ring doorbell or other smart devices then it's a good option.

Excellent latest gen FireTV... but what's that? And is it worth it?
This TV is part of the 2023 range from Panasonic. It's very difficult to unpack where this sits in the range of Panasonic TVs it's a real mishmash of numbers and letters but I'll try to summarize the key points below:The 950 series are the mini led flagship series, the mx800 series are the LED Fire TV.Lx800 are the all the android LED TVs.The 600 series appear to have panasonics own operating system with an option of wide legs or a single standThis TV has a 43 inch diagonal viewing area with 4K resolution and HDR: Dolby vision HLG and HDR 10.This TV is supplied with Separate feet 4-point style let's which are easily attached using the supplied screws. They are handed but are poke-yoke.This TV has 62 cm leg spacingVesa mount spacing is vesa 200Overall dimensions incl legs is 96cm W x 62cm H x 22cm T (7cm T without legs)This TV users a standard "figure 8" power connector which is good as I don't like brand specific connectors.... this enables you to use any replacement lead should you need to.There are a whole host of connections which are:1x opical audio out1x ethernet2x usb2x aerial ports4x hdmi (1x eARC)1x AV in (no idea what this is for)1x headphone jack1x common interfaceThe most useful of all these connections is the one eARC HDMI port which will be used for sound bars and other AV connections. This TV uses Fire TV OS, this interface is surprisingly good!I'm a Big fan of the fire TV interface I've been using a fire stick daily for many years so this feels right at home it's much better than the Google TV interface which frankly was dreadful in the early days. This also has more functionality then the TV brand operating systems. The Fire TV OS is Set up via app or remote and took 5-10mins for an update. There's no inbuilt network functionality I guess this could be added by downloading the appropriate app from the Amazon app store. For example if you had family video stored on a network connected drive there's no way for you to access these without downloading a third party app.Picture qualityI tested the image using YouTube 4k test footage and I'm happy to say that the picture quality was excellent detailed with vibrant colors and good contrast. Not got to the standard of an OLED screen but certainly good for standard LED backlight TVs.Using Netflix content the Dolby vision content really stood out and TV shows such as altered carbon look excellent if not breathtaking. There's no light bleed at the edges and good screen uniformity this is a good quality panel. This TV has Dolby Atmos built in which I don't fully understand as it only has stereo speakers. As always with flat screen TVs the sound was very thin with no base but had reasonable detail especially for vocals. Overall the sound is no better or worse than what you'd find in most flat screen TVs.The supplied IR Remote feels really nice in the hand.... It's nothing fancy but is functional and does the job well it's well laid out and has a inbuilt voice function whichworks much like an Fire TV remote. This TV has no Picture in Picture function which is a shame.I'm using this TV as a huge PC monitor which is a real extravagance. Close up the downside of this are really noticeable pixelation is obvious but the backlight and the LCD elements of the panel are separated by some distance which is only noticeable close-up but effects how this performs as a PC monitor. What I can't quite understand is the pricing strategy for this TV. This is the latest generation of 43 inch LED TV from Panasonic at an RRP of 600 pounds......but the previous gen 650 series can be purchased for 200 pounds less (although this is not a fire TV). Indeed you can buy 43 inch 4K UHD TVs from the likes of LG and Samsung for under 400 quid, and although I cannot comment on the picture quality of these TVs, is it worth paying to £200 extra for the Fire TV interface when you could just purchase a fire TV stick if you insisted on it? Overall I feel like this TV is a little overpriced compared to the competition.
