Make short work of splitting firewood with the 2.5 lb. Hults Bruk splitting wedge. Premium steel and tapered head force the wood grain to separate, splitting blocks and rounds with ease.

Not very effective or useful, especially given its cost.
I have several Hults Bruk axes and they are superb, so I expected this to be at that level. I immediately took it out and started to use it and have been deeply, deeply underwhelmed. First, it's small and the head is hard to hit with a hammer. Second, it simply does a poor job of working its way into a tree. It gets so far, and then when I think it's secure and hit it hard, it bounces out. Third, it's significantly smaller than it looks.I've tried to use it for a few hours and have hit the top enough for it to be thoroughly used or I would return it. My advice: save your money and get 2-3 Estwing wedges. They work better and are much cheaper and you can sharpen them if you want the to enter the wood more easily. Maybe this works on evergreens or tiny logs, but it's been a 100% failure on the hickory tree I had to take down in my yard.
