Review: Very useful book! - Very beneficial for today's oil&gas industry manager. Review: Good when you have no Wikipedia - I am a portfolio manager myself and bought this book for one of my analysts. The book is really just a collection of mediocre textsโmaterial that could be taken from Wikipedia or, nowadays, even generated by ChatGPT. I truly canโt understand these positive reviews. When I looked into it myself, I began to feel ashamed that my analysts had to read something like this because of me...

Dry reading at times but incredibly informative
I came into this book completely ignorant to commodities in general and was looking for something that could educate me on the dynamics of how they worked. After searching in vain for a book covering all commodities I came upon this one on energy. It is just what I was looking for. The book covers every little detail about energy from drilling details to transmission and three phase energy. It's a tough dry read though. I still haven't finished the entire book but the chapters I've read so far already make it worth the high price. I've learned so much about energy from this book it's surprising. No longer do I feel ignorant when the topic of energy or oil or natural gas comes up. What I've read so far isn't a get rich quick by reading tea leaves kind of book. It's a fact based very comprehensive overview of the entire energy market.
