Speedball Elegant Writer Extra Fine Calligraphy Marker, Black (2514)

Quite pigmented. A hard, flat, felt tip. Oblong shaped. Provides a crisp line. Works well enough for adding definition to my watercolor paintings, as a last step. Not waterproof, but is acid free. I paid $7.00. Too much for what it ends up doing for me (same as any felt pen), but I am glad I tried the brand, just for the heck of it. I won't be buying again though because it doesn't meet all the desired attributes of a black marker and how I would really use one. Just too expensive.

I purchased a few different sizes of this "pen" and have used them regularly since 2012. The pen writes like a wide gel-roller or perhaps a felt-tip pen, in my experience. I wouldn't categorize it as a marker because the flow is not overly-opaque nor does the ink spread everywhere. It's permanent on paper like a felt-tip marker however the ink doesn't bleed. This is my go-to pen for writing notes/cards, addressing envelopes, journaling and when I want an artistic touch when writing anything. I've kept so many of these around and the "fine point" nibs have always been a favorite that when they began showing signs of running low on ink, I was surprised and kind-of bummed. I logged onto Nostalgic Impressions to re-order and was unable to find them on their site so I did a quick search for "Calligraphy marker" and here they are! One thing I'd like differently on the actual instrument is the writing on the side, they all have the nib size, such as "2.0" or "1.x", however because the nib is not interchangeable, after writing with them for years, the definition on the side has worn off so I'm unsure which size it was that I prefer so I'm reordering this "Elegant Writer" in various sizes, again.

I like these for the calligraphy I sometimes do. They are also great for sketching; adding water to those sketches has a painterly quality I am sometimes looking for.

Excellent calligraphy pen!

No problem with a dried out pen. Seems to be the finest (narrowest) readily available chisel-tip pen for italic and similar hands. Easier for beginners than a fountain or dip pen, blacker lines.

As a corporate trainer, I hand out certificates at the end of class. Often I don't see the class list until I step into the classroom. I bought this so I could fill in the names during breaks, and hand out hand-lettered certificates. This chisel-tipped marker does a good job on italic lettering. Requires a light and steady touch for best results. Practice on a plain sheet of paper to get it right. After that, it gives consistent results. Let it dry before stacking pieces of paper on it. Don't leave the cap off once you are done writing.

If you're looking for something different for your artwork this writer will be a pleasant surprise.

Der Elegant Writer Black Extra-Fine Carded ist ein ganz besonderer Stift. Man zieht mit Ihm die Outlins (die Außenlinie)oder die Linien, wo man den Effekt haben möchte und sobald man ihn mit Hilfe eines Pinsels nass macht, verschwimmt er zu einem sehr schönen Farbeffekt. Amazing pen. Saw this on YouTube. You draw black lines with this pen then run a damp paint brush over the lines and suddenly you have colours - pinks and blues and greens. It's like magic and great fun. Try it - you won't be disappointed.

volevo usare questo pennarello per lavori simil acquerello dato che l'inchiostro si diluisce con l'acqua e si separa in 3 colori (azzurro verde e rosa, oltre che il nero di base, se attivato con acqua). la penna avrebbe anche fatto il suo dovere ma è arrivata asciutta per cui inutilizzabile. il venditore l'ha tolta dallo stock subito dopo il mio acquisto. eviterei il BIC STORE se fossi in voi, continuano a crescere il prezzo degli oggetti in vendita e quelli che arrivano, se arrivano (mi è capitato di ricevere mezzo ordine soltanto da questo venditore) sono vecchi e in pessime condizioni.
