Solves two big problems with my Garmin LM 6.0
The Garmin would not come up properly with the old cable, thought it was attached to a PC. Also I couldn't get the screen brightness above 40% with the old cable. Both were show stoppers until I found this cable, hooray, it solved both problems and makes the Garmin a keeper.

Excellent Product. Only mini usb wire I could find that tells Garmin to start in charge-only mode.
This is exactly what I needed. I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS that I wanted to stealth wire behind the dash and under the trim for a more professional look. Unfortunately, the stock charger is big and clunky and only plugs into the car charger cig outlet port. I have usb charging ports inside my center console that I ran this to with the assistance of a usb extension cable. The initial problem I ran into with all other cables I tried before I ordered this one is that the GPS thinks it is hooked into a computer even though the USB ports in my car only supply power and not data. Apparently, Garmin likes to make things difficult with tricky wiring. I did some research and learned that the Garmin car chargers have 5 wires, with the 5th wire being connected to pin X. For a Garmin to know that it is connected to a charger and not a computer, Pin X and Pin 4 (ground) have to be connected (shorted) which tells the unit to only charge. I did not want to mess with modifying a USB cable, many of which have only 4 wires and do not use pin X. As a result, I purchased this hoping it was wired correctly and am glad to find out that it is wired perfectly for telling the Garmin to start up in charge only mode. This wire is very difficult to find and I highly recommend it. Even came with a velcro cable tie which I used and is very helpful. You will lose the Traffic Antennae which is built into the Garmin chargers but I didn't care about that because the traffic predictions never work well anyway. If you have a Garmin and don't want a bulky wire hanging all over your car this is what you need.

Works with my garmin GPS
I previously purchased a Mini-usb cable that was supposed to be for charging-only with Garmin, but didn't charge my Garmin - it only put it into data-mode (showing icon indicating I should use Garmin Express to connect to the GPS) with a message saying that charging will NOT happen at all, and by the way, traffic also won't work. I wrote a review on that and the seller was very nice, assuring me they would update their listing with the correct info (they never did).Anyway THIS ONE worked as expected. As you might know, to charge a Garmin GPS, the Mini-usb cable requires a special 5th-wire, and they need this special wiring in order to work. Without it, it's just a plain USB data-cable. But with the special wiring, it will put the Garmin GPS into 'charge mode' and also allow the traffic receiver to work.So if you're shopping for a cable to allow you to use your Garmin GPS in your car with a USB type-A connector (and thus avoid having a bulky charger occupying an entire 12V outlet) then this is the right on to get. Good luck.

Worked as described
I had bought several different cords trying to get my GPS to work in my car using a USB port. The other cords were making the GPS think it was connected to a computer. This definitely worked for me. My GPS is working perfectly in my car now. My Android Auto sometimes goes out on me and my GPS always works so this was very important to me as I drive a lot for my job. Highly recommend.

Works with my Garmin 60
This has a 90°angle end which is what I needed for my application. I really don't need the extra long cable but appreciate it. To help keep the cable neat and orderly there is a Velcro type wrap included which was a nice surprise for me.When I first plugged it in I received a message that the cable was not able to give me live traffic updates. That is not an issue for me however it might be something that another person might require so be aware that this cable can't do that. Also,I didn't want a cable that plugged into a power outlet because I have a USB port that is much closer and convenient than the power outlet so that was another reason to purchase this cable.

Good - But Not Equal to OEM
Cord works fine - but does not allow my Garmin unit to display full screen brightness; and a message pops up each time that says the cord will not support the transit function.

Very happy to find this! Works perfectly!
We have a Garmin 2597 LMT that we've owned for some years, and use on trips. So we were initially bummed when we realized the new car has no cigarette lighter and thought we'd have to give up the use of our Garmin. VERY happy to find this replacement cable: not traveling these days due to COVID, but did try it out around town and it works perfectly. MUCH cheaper than paying Mazda $500 for their info screen traffic module plugin. And having the angled plug on the one end makes cord management much easier: nice touch!

More than just good quality... a great fit!
When the little male tabs fit so perfectly into the female slots, it is almost like true love. Everyone has had these small cables where you have trouble sticking them in, because they are too tight or too loose... and that can frustrate you quite often. But somehow this manufacturer came up with the perfect fit - and my Garmin seems to get a great charge out of it. 😏
