What’s the purpose for each and how to incorporate with the cleaner?** A: After seeing both bottles and reading the labels, it is my understanding the clear bottle, which is the conditioner, is just the mineral oil and the Vitamin E I think which helps to preserve the wood. The 2nd bottle is more wax-like in appearance, resembling beeswax, and has mineral oil, probably as a carrier for the beeswax, and carnuba wax, which helps to coat and protect the wood cutting board. But both are food grade quality guaranteed, and will not go rancid, and makes the wood look fantastic. Just follow the easy to understand directions on the bottles and you will be all set. The applicators come in small zip lock bags, which work great to store them in between uses, which prevents them from drying out, just don't get them mixed up. Apply 3-4 coats of the conditioner first, then another 3-4 coats of the oil/wax, and it will look great. It uses a lot less than I thought it would, I am very pleased with this product. **Q: does this expire? I have one with a mfg date of 7/19/10** A: I would say if it's over 10 years it would no longer be good. Customer Service **Q: Why do you need both? What is the difference between the two bottles? I want one product that does everything, so which would I choose?** A: The oil alone will keep the wood moisturized and protected. I use the conditioner as a little extra protection when the item doesn’t need a thorough treatment again.
