Bonsaii 6 Sheet High Security Micro Cut Paper Shredder, Credit Cards/Mail/Staples/Clips Shredder for Home Use with 4.2 Gallon Bin (C261-D)

Purchased this product as being supplied from within the UAE by a UAE company, no reference whatsoever that this electrical item is of no use in the UAE, as on opening has a US plug and 110v. Very disappointing.

WORKS WELL

Llevo varias semanas usando esta Bonsaii y me ha sorprendido gratamente; buena construcción, dura y resistente, y cumple todo lo que promete: 6 hojas y pulveriza todo. Solo una cosa “no es cierta”: trabaja más de 10 minutos sin parar, cuando anuncia solo 5 minutos. No obstante, no la sobrecargó en exceso y mis sesiones no dura más de 30 minutos con intervalos de descanso. Si la volvería a comprar!

I get a lot of junk mail at work and this works great for the price. Haven't had any issues with it. Never jammed it. So no complaints really.

Entiendo que es un equipo que genera ruido, pero he tenido otras mucho más silenciosas. Y lo peor es que la tapa no tiene manera de asegurarla al contenedor, por lo que de nada sirve el asa para transportar el equipo completo, no hace sentido!

So folks, I bought this shredder in Dec-2023. Given it's features, it has worked very well no doubt. It has terrific features which I liked, such as even shredding credit cards (though note: run of the mill credit cards), which I have used successfully. However, I recently had to get a replacement for my Amazon Prime card. Amazon indeed sent me a prepaid envelope to send back the old card for destruction. Admittedly, I tried to be smart and attempted to shred the old Amazon card in this shredder at home. Lo and behold, the shredder could not handle the new card. The card shredded half way - I tried to restart the shredder multiple times but to no avail. It got stuck in the shredder and I thought the blades might be gone. Today, I gave it another try to get the card out using the "reverse" operation and the shredder was able to raise it back up, and I could pull it out with some yanking. Are the blades damaged? Probably not, as I retested the shredder with many sheets going through wonderfully, I do not see any difference in performance. If they are weakened, only time will tell. I believe this probably applies to many shredders which have credit card shredding capability, because there's probably a line when it comes to cards which come with hard metallic content. I've therefore revised my review by bumping up my assessment to 4*, leaving out the one, as manufacturers should take cognizance when such things challenge their claims. I mean, Amazon's hard version of the card has been out there for more than a year, and I'm sure there must also be other issuers, too. Full disclaimer: My review from last night is still "under review" by Amazon, as it was a spur of the moment hard reaction on having thought the shredder might be destroyed. I'm submitting an updated version of my original review with new information and a revised assessment. I hope it will go through.
