We had our carafe for less than a year when it started leaking around the lid when pouring coffee. Upon examination I could see that the rubber gasket had separated or stretched and wasn't fitting snugly in the lid anymore. I suppose the heat from the carafe and coffee caused this problem, since we never put our coffee pot in the dishwasher.I looked on the Cuisinart website and on Amazon but the gasket can't be bought separately. This replacement lid fits perfectly on our carafe, and has stopped the leaking problem. I'm a little peeved that the original gasket didn't last longer than it did, but at least the replacement lid is available.

This was purchased as a replacement for the carafe lid that fell and broke for my Cuisinart coffee and tea maker.

When the old tops age, the inner ball valve sticks and coffee pour ALL OVER THE COUNTER! This one has NO ball valve to stick, so it works better, but you might have to sneak a small rubber band under the rubber seal. It isn't quite as tight as it should be!

Our old lid was clogged after many years of heavy use. This one works perfectly!
