These Are The Best Things Since Sliced Bread!
I hate scrubbing out muffin tins, and have been using paper cups when making muffins. But now I've discovered these silicone cups and I fell in love from the first time I tried them. That was with a gluten free muffin recipe that tends to stick or crumble more than regular muffins (made with flour). I set each silicone cup in the well of a muffin pan and baked. No need to grease or flour the silicone cups and the muffins popped out BEAUTIFULLY with no sticking or edges stuck to the cup. With paper muffin cups, I always serve muffins still in the paper, because tearing away the paper cup always left an edge sticking to the bottom of the cup - that is, after taking the muffins out of the cup, they weren't "pretty". But with these silicone cups, the muffins released great and the muffins were, I admit it, beautiful. Wash-up is easy. I have no problem in spite of the cups having accordion sides. (The flexing can help with cleaning.) And, since the muffins release from the cups so nicely, there's much less clean-up to do in the first place. I like how the inside of each silicone cup has a little edge going around it. This was helpful for making sure I filled each muffin cup to the same level. This is my second silicone bakewear, and I am really hooked. If you make scones, try out this fabulous scone pan: Orka Black Silicone 9 Scone Pan Happy Reader

Perfect Release for Gluten Free items
These are the perfect size muffin - not the giant Texas size you see in bakeries but bigger than bite size. Since I only bake gluten free, these are an inexpensive solution that solve many common problems. 1)I don't find cupcake papers expensive, but I hate that they stick to most GF muffins. 2)They wash up so easily that it's not a problem for those that don't have a dishwasher. Greasing muffin pans will ensure your muffin comes out, but cleaning the cups of the muffin tin isn't my idea of a good time. 3) They are super easy to store, a real plus for my Manhattan kitchen. 4) The silicone muffin pans I've bought all seem to think that bigger is better. The problem with that is that bigger isn't better when it comes to my hips! I have made the same recipe with these liners using them two differnt ways. First by put them on small sheet pan and then using them as you would paper liners. They worked both ways, but I got a higher rise using them inside the pan. This is understandable since I was using a SCD recipe (almond flour based) so the batter is a bit on the heavy side. They didn't get too out of shape because while the batter pushed at the sides, the silicone is substantial enough that I didn't get what I call the "hockey puck" effect that some of the thinner silicone products produce. I remove the liners prior to freezing only because I don't want to buy more than one set and I want to be sure my son's don't toss the liners as if they were disposable wrappers!

These are perfect!
These really are wonderful. I still give them a little spray before I bake but as soon as I pull them out of the oven they flip out of the containers so easily. It is literally a matter of turning it upside down and your muffin or cupcake will just fall right out. They clean nicely if you soak them in hot soapy water and rinse. I originally purchased them because I needed a way to mold chocolate cupcake liners for ice cream cupcakes (kind of like Cold Stone does). I was surprised at how well it worked. I melted my chocolate, spread a coat on the inside, popped it in the freezer, and repeated that a couple times. I was afraid the chocolate cups would break when I peeled off the silicone cup but if you just start from the top edge and roll the sides down until the cup is inside out your chocolate cupcake wrapper will be safe. If you try it the cups will have a small indented line around the outside from where the "fill here" marker line is inside of the silicone cup, but other than that they turned out pretty cute. Paper wrappers are nice for when you want a little extra decoration still but if you don't mind presenting your baked goods "naked" then these are certainly for you. They rock!

works well for muffin and cupcake
I used them for a few times so far and it works fine for muffins and cupcakes. I didn't spray oil on them. I just fill the batter into the cups then bake. I put these cups on rectangle baking pan also tried metal muffin pan too, and both worked great. The batter I made was very healthy (very low sugar and oil, maybe 1/4 of the receipe usually calls for), and the muffins or cupcakes all came out neatly. I'm very happy with its nonstickiness. The cups do get stained (from blueberry) which doesn't bother me. There might be 1 or 2 very tiny crumbs hidden in the ribs of a cup, so I just soak them for a few minutes then rub it off with dish sponge. I also tried top-rack dishwasher but they're hard to place on rack, so I just hand wash them. Overall, I think they're easy to clean and very good replacement for paper cups.

Silicone rocks!
This is my second set.. the first one was getting so much use that they were in use when I needed them!!! So far I've used them to make: Muffins, cupcakes, pudding pops, and ice chunks. I LOVE pudding pops.. and the silicone cups just peel right off... same with the ice chunks. I can get as much ice frozen in the 12 cups as I could in 2 1/2 ice cube trays, in less time... and the bigger chunks of ice last longer than smaller cubes. A plus, for me, is that they are single cups and not trays... I can choose how many to put in the toaster oven, I'm not limited to the six that a tray usually has (and still fit the toaster oven), with these I can go up to 12 at a time. They are a breeze to clean. I turn them inside out and use hot soapy water and a soft cloth. I don't spray them with anything.. so even after all the use they've had there is no residue and they release nicely. Using no oil for baking muffins.. at first I wasn't sure I liked it... there was a bit of a taste difference.. but after making a few batches now I find that they taste better without that oil that used to be needed in the cupcake tins. My friends still aren't sure.. I brag them up but I'm still getting funny looks. I can see myself adding another set or two to my arsenal of kitchen tools!

The best thing EVER!!!
When my boyfriend suggested we buy these, I was very skeptical. For one, how is it possible to put "plastic" in the oven. Two, it will suck having to clean them out all the time. But OMG! These thingies are the best things EVER! I have made muffins in them, brownie cupcakes in them, regular cupcakes... and every single time, they turned out PERFECTLY! My cupcakes have never had such smooth bottoms with such great coloring. And clean up is a breeze!! I could just use a paper towel to wipe them clean! (Although of course, I can't help still using soap and water.) I did have to learn more about what silicone is and how you can put them in an oven without worrying about them melting, but yeah... Absolutely incredible! I so wish my mom had these when we were growing up. Just think of all the time it would have saved from having to scrape the burnt pieces from inside the muffin pans!!! Their flexibility still freaks me out a little, but it's cool because if they don't just slip right off of the muffin, the flexibility allows me to pull them in any direction I need to, which has only happened because I put too much batter in them and the overflow sort of enveloped the baking cup. But the cup saved even my mistakes! Awesome product!

I wouldn't buy them again
I've been using these muffin cups for over a year now, and overall I'm still on the fence about them. If the ones I have got lost, I don't think I'd buy them again. Pros: - They're fairly rigid on their own, so you don't really need to use a muffin pan with them. This is great for me, since I only have a 6-muffin tin. - They're dishwasher safe... kind of (see related "con" below) - They're re-usable, so they're always there. When I used the paper liners I always forgot to check if I had enough before going to the grocery store and always seemed to be out of them every time I wanted to make muffins. - If you're doing more than 12 muffins at a time, you can immediately pop out the muffins to cool on a rack and then pour in the batter for the next batch. Cons: - While they are dishwasher safe, I haven't found a reliable method for keeping them from flipping over and filling up with water. As a result, I still end up washing them by hand most of the time. They're fairly easy to clean as long as you soak them first. - They're not as non-stick as I had hoped. I still have to spray them with oil to get the muffins to pop out easily. If I don't use the cooking spray then they are much more of a pain to clean. - They're smaller than standard muffin cups, so when you follow a recipe meant to make a specific number of muffins you end up having extra batter.

Not normal Wilton quality
Wilton usually means some of the best decorative baking cookware, but these silicone baking cups were disappointing. To explain, we had purchased four sets of outstanding silicone reusable muffin cups some years ago... we loved them so much we gave two sets as gifts to family - and they loved them, too... But as things do, some have been lost, so it was time to replace. I thought I'd try these based on the description and my previous experience. So why are the Wilton cups getting a ho-hum rating? In a word, size matters. These fail in two important categories: wall thickness and diameter. Wall thickness: the Wilton cups are about 50% heavier wall thickness than the silicone cups we already owned. That means stiffer: harder to wash, harder to remove the muffins. Maybe our first cups were intended to be muffin pan liners and these are meant to freely stand on a baking sheet - all I know is they are not nearly as good as my old ones. Diameter: These are almost 1/4" smaller diameter than a standard paper baking cup, and my previous silicone cups. I have no idea why Wilton would make a non-standard size... It feels like Marketing made all the decisions about these cups and left the Engineering team sitting on the bench. I would not buy again. And I would not recommend to a friend - or enemy. These are going to be used only after all my other cups are lost

A éviter absolument
