Would be good for pony camp
This is a pretty good starter grooming kit for a young rider. I have been riding horses for 47 years and here is my impression of each item in the kit:Bag - useless. It won't hold up and it is hard to get everything back in there. Use a little bucket or spring for a slightly more expensive set with a better bag.Curry comb - standard. It will do the jobHard Brush - small size is good for kids. I wish it had a strap like the soft brush. It would be more useful if the bristles were stiffer.Soft brush - this is decent brush and probably the only brush you will need 90% of the time. It is not really a soft brush, but more of a medium all-purpose brush. Brushes with natural bristles are better because the plastic ones can make fur staticky. But, I still use the plastic ones if that is what's handy."Tail" comb - take it out of the kit. This type of comb is great for people, but not for horses. An inexpensive metal braiding comb would be more useful. The round brush will do less damage to the tail.Round brush - I really like this brush. It is good for manes and tails. I find that these brushes make great curry combs in the winter and help de-shed in the spring. Plus, my horse likes how they feel. The protective balls will eventually wear off the bristles and then it will need to be replaced.Hoof pick - this shape is easy for kids to use. I like it better than the ones with the brushes because this kind doesn't get bent as quickly.Sponge - useless for bathing a horse, but it could come in handy for tack or for applying fly spray to a horse's face.Sweat scraper - it'll do. The small size will be good for smaller horses and people. It is not built to last, but at least it shouldn't get rusty or bent. The handle is hollow and will break as soon as a horse steps on it. It does have a ring for hanging it up, and that is great.Over-all - this is cute set for a kid that covers the basics.

Great starter kit for $22.00!!
I received this equine grooming set through the Amazon Vine Voice program. This set comes in a plastic container with a handle, but you'll want to use a different bag for long-term. The brushes are fine, and the round brush is great for manes and tails. In fact, the kit is a good value for $22.00, and it would complement an existing kit for backup brushes and an extra hoof pick because with horses, you can never have too many grooming tools. They all get used a lot!!Anyhow, I am pleased with the set for adding to my other grooming essentials. The extra sponge and squeegee will also get used.
