Very happy with this extra protection. I recommend it for everyone, especially for students living on their own for the first time. It’s not outdated, it still works to keep unwanted people out. So that’s a win for me. It was easy to install, just need a screwdriver or a drill. Fits the average door. Good quality.

This lock was a great addition to my apartment! I loved how cheap it was but that it was also of great quality! The sizing was perfect and I feel safer being at my home at night alone! It’s a sturdy little lock and I was surprised but overall happy with how it held up and is continuing to hold up in my place! Performance was overall great! Would recommend to anyone looking for cheap but safe!

Easy to install, looks nice, and is doing its job I don’t think I would use it for actual security (like a door to the outside). It has held up perfectly well to regular use, but I could see it snapping if a lot of pressure were out on it.

Mom is in a stage of cognitive decline that she doesn't know where she is. She's been wandering off unattended for years and it gets her into trouble. She was even hospitalized one of those times. So we tried child-proof door knobs and they didn't stop her, so I installed these chains high on the doorway where she won't notice them and won't know how to operate them. When she complains that she's trapped and can't get out, I know she's attempted another unaccompanied odyssey. With the chain, I can make sure she puts on proper shoes, brings her walker, I can keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't get stranded somewhere. That little chain on each door has already spared me and the neighbors quite a bit of grief. No more falling down in the yard and hoping for the kindness of strangers. This has worked wonderfully. The next obvious purchase would be a door alarm in case she ever figures out the chain.

It was okay and serves my purposes, but I would not use it for for true security. The screws that were included were too long for me to be able to use in my door frame, so I used some other random screws that I had. Someone tried to open the door while the chain was up, causing one of the screws to strip out of the door frame and bend the small metal piece that the chain is attached to. I was able to bend it back, but it is not overly sturdy. I'm quite certain that if somebody really wanted to get in (with the door otherwise unlocked, of course), they could easily kick through this, but it at least prevents the maintenance people from walking in while I'm in the shower.

This cheap chain lock helped me to feel safe. I used it to lock myself in my room when the man that I cared for became upset. He would calm down in a few minutes. I could watch him through the crack of the door or with the room camera to be sure that he was safe. I liked knowing that he could not enter my room when he was upset, and that I could call for backup from a safe place, if I should need to. This lock is strong and durable.

It didn’t last a week because my kid pushed the door, and the entire lock went out of place. It was good-looking, though.

So far so good, easy to install and look great. Seem to be made out of decent quality material, so I’d think they’d be quite durable. Haven’t had anyone try to kick my door in or try to break in as of yet lol so I can’t really speak on if they’d stop an intruder or anything but I trust it. Would recommend.

My back door was tricky to find a child lock that would work! One of my children is autistic and an eloper (runs away)! I installed this high up on my door and This product gives me peace of mind in our home knowing that my son and my toddler can’t get out. Even though I had a working child lock on my front door I got a second one of these and installed it there as well for extra security and peace of mind.
