Ten Biscuit Books Under One Cover - Beautiful
The 'Biscuit' collection is a beautifully illustrated, full color, 190+ pages hardbound tome. It is a compilation of 10 separate Biscuit books written for beginner readers. The 'books' are all bound together in the hard cover and there is no table of contents. The stories, covering the interactions between a little girl and her puppy and between the two of them and 'the world', are told in large typefaces with no more than 3 lines per page. The sentences are short and nearly all words should be familiar to a 4-6 year old. All pages are illustrated and some pages have illustrations only - no words.Biscuit was one of the Christmas presents our daughter received. It was a welcome present because the book just happens to be at her reading level (K) and she is now taking great pride in reading the stories herself - with some help from dad and mom or her bigger brothers, of course. This is her first 'big book'. She loves being able to read full sentences all by herself and the fact that the girl pictured in the book looks almost like her twin sister doesn't hurt either :)

Special books if you have a dog!
I can't wait to give this to my granddaughter who will be turning 6. Her and her family have a golden retriever whom they love so much! She just turned one year old, so I'm sure she will remember the "puppy" year, and these books will always be a reminder. Even though these books don't state a breed, Biscuit sure looks like a "Golden" and I know my granddaughter will love these books as much as she loves her dog. There are a lot of Biscuit books out there, so I will continue to buy her some more for Christmas and other special occasions.

So I have mixed feelings about this but it might just be me so I still gave it 4/5 stars because it is really good quality and has all the books I loved as a kid and learned to read with. So my big thing with this is that the book is too big from the original books and instead of "stretching" the page to fit or making this book the same size of the org they just put the picture in the middle of the page with extra paper on all sides which in my opinion looks very cheap and I was disappointed to see this. However overall the book does its job and it came in perfect condition and the pages feel like good quality.

I am a first grade teacher and I love the Biscuit books for early readers
My daughter LOVES this book! We originally picked it up at Target and she read it as I shopped all the way to the store. I ended up purchasing it from Amazon due to the slight price difference and because I had an Amazon gift card. I am a first grade teacher and I love the Biscuit books for early readers...they are engaging enough but also repetitive enough to allow new readers to feel competent and successful with the words in the text.I think this book is a great value since it includes ten Biscuit stories. The only drawback is that the book itself is rather heavy and it's hard for a toddler to hold up while laying on their back. For the price, I feel like it is excellent value for your money and for my daughter at least the entertainment value is great.

just good stories for young kids
We have been reading the small Biscuit sight word readers (over and over) so I decided to get this collection for my 5 year old. I was surprised to see that the stories are longer than the short readers, but pleasantly so. My 5 year old stuck with the reading because he loves Biscuit. The stories themselves are interesting and the length adds to the dimension (where the sight readers fall a tad short). Biscuit’s adventures are lighthearted and he is always including his friends or making new friends. Not overly preachy on the messages, just good stories for young kids.

How can anyone not like Biscuit? Must haves for emergent readers
How can anyone not like Biscuit? Must haves for emergent readers...boys and girls alike love them. Ten simple stories in one amazing book --- win! This (and another Biscuit compilation) were our go-to choice for our son when choosing what to read each day. He had a hard time when he was learning to read and would get so frustrated. Often, he would not want to read at all. So we starting building our 'reading muscles' by reading at least one story a day. He would always choose to read a story from these books. They always made him so happy and confident...and he would often want to read more than just one story! Great motivator and confidence booster! Highly recommend!

Satisfied overall
I love the price of this book on Amazon compared to multi packs and book stores. The pages are larger then the pictures so that’s nice for little kids.I will say that I bought this book and the first one had a ripped page right in the middle of the book. Amazon replaced it right away without a problem. So please flip through the whole book if you buy one when it arrives. Some of the word printing is lighter but the pictures fine. Overall I’m satisfied and my child likes the book.

Great little stories
I started buying the Biscuit books about 6 months ago, for my Grandson. He is 4, and could read the first one within minutes, having never read before. I have bought about 10 now. However, he takes them all home with him, and when he comes to stay at short notice doesn't always remember to bring them with him. So I was delighted to see this collection. It is really the pages from the original books bound together, rather than being designed as a whole, so the layout isn't consistent, but that doesn't detract from the book at all. Its also a much cheaper way to buy the books if you are new to the series. The stories are American, but I found the words used are in line with the keywords my grandson has in his reading bag. My grandson loves to read these stories himself, but for younger children where an adult is reading to a child, they do not sound stilted like so many reading scheme books. I recommend these to everyone, and several friends tell me their grandchildren love these books too.

Lovely book, lovely illustrations
This is a collection of several of the Biscuit stories including;BiscuitBiscuit wins a prizeBiscuit's new trickBiscuit's birthdayBiscuit's picnicBiscuit's day at the beachTime to PaintBiscuit meets the neighborsBiscuit goes to the parkBiscuit and the bunnyQuite a cost effective way to get several stories, although I think the large book format is a little daunting for my little girl who is used to having people read stories in big books to her. The stories themselves are very sweet and fairly interesting even though simple words are used. I think they are a little tricky for my just 5 year old reluctant reader. I've also bought the biscuit fun with phonics set which are simpler so we'll start with those to build her confidence. My 2 year old also really loves the stories and illustrations.

lovely story
This is for my Grandchildren when I go visit them soon. I haven't thereforev read it with them (age 2 and 4) but know that it will be a success. I was a teacher for many yrs and know that books with repetition go down well with young children. Story is sweet and charming. Pictures are clear and bright and just what children of this age will like.

Buy it
I was worried about which books I could start my child off with for reading and came across these in my search. The children get so attached to this lovable little dog and besides the wonderful illustrations, they are encouraged to find out what he gets up to. My child is reading well now and re-reads these stories many times
