extremely cute doll- but better for display than play
I applaud the designers of the Novi Stars line! they are unique, beautiful, the box art is amazing, the packaging is cute (i love the tiara it comes with- i wear it!!!), their personalities have a lot of thought, and their look is unique to any dolls out there. I love that they are strange and edgy, and also have cartoonish bodies as well. I like Monster High dolls but their bodies are so stick thin I don't think they are as good of an influence on young girls. (I am an adult collector).However, i wish Tula Toned was as articulated as MH dolls! only her head and arms move. She has a bit of trouble stayng standing, even with the base, and her wings and tail easily fall off. While i think Novi Stars are the most beautifully designed fashion dolls on the market right now, they are not the most high quality. The details are perfectly painted and the materials are good, but the mold is a little blah, and the clothes look kinda cheap.Her hair is beautiful, but in a complex do i probably couldn't pull off again if i were to take it down. part of the fun of dolls with long hair is styling it! and Tula's is already so beautifully styled i don't wanna mess with it.Overall, I think this toy is better for display than play. she is difficult to dress, style, and doesn't move much. But she does inspire a lot of creativity i don't think other fashion dolls do! Her story and personality is lovely and unique, so i think a kid who is a little older or more delicate with their toys would still love her. I am an artist and she sits on my desk and i draw her all the time, and love her little bat friend too.One of my favorite toys in my collection.

Leaky Legs
The doll came with fluid leaked all over the inside of the box, presumably from a violent shipping handler. Other than that, she's perfectly fine.
