I bought this set for a surprise date night, which went down a treat! This was hours of fun and will be a regular wholesome evening activity in our household now.

This kit has everything you need to create a pottery creation, and looks simply great. It's packed with tools, guides, some paint and varnish, along with of course a hefty chunk of clay. The air-dry and varnish finish gives an unbelievably professional result, indistinguishable from kiln-dried pieces.Overall this is a fantastic kit that should cater to crafters across the whole range of ages, skills and aims.

The media could not be loaded.  SCULPD Pottery Kit, Air-Dry Clay Starter Kit for BeginnersI love playing with polymer clay but so far have not gotten on so well with air drying clay, so this looked an ideal way to have a go.The kit includes air dry clay, wooden tools, white paint, varnish, sponge, paint brushes and a step-by-step guide. You get 2 bags of air-dry clay and once opened unused clay needs to be stored in an airtight container, so it doesn't harden.A couple of years ago I saw a beautiful pot I wanted to make but it required air dry clay so finally I'm going to see if I can make something similar but probably a much simpler version.Weird stuff this air-dry clay - its hairy when you cut it! I've had to revise what I was going to make so that it can be something that is either rolled or moulded but not cut as the hairs stick out. Found a suitable solution in a large seashell mould hiding amongst my many crafting boxes.The clay seems to work well in a mould as long as I dust with a little cornflour first to stop it sticking. I have wrapped an old coffee jar in clingflim and wrapped the clay around. I've added a couple of fish and now have to be patient and wait a few days for it to dry. I have coloured the pot with metallic dusting powders, and it actually looks quite reasonable. It's still not quite dry enough to varnish but I'm happy with the results. The whole pot took about 2/3 of a bag of clay so there's plenty more to play with, can't wait!

The kit contains two large resealable bags of air dry clays. This is more than enough to complete your first few pieces of pottery. The five wood tools are well shaped, comfortable to hold and robust. Also included is a sponge for applying water, a container of white paint, a container of varnish, two good quality brushes and a clear instruction booklet.I have very much enjoyed using this kit. The clay is fairly stiff when it comes out the packet, but adding water to the surface made it it more pliable, so that I could create a smooth finish to my work. The finished clay dried out well, without deforming or cracking. I found the white paint and varnish easy to work with, using the brushes supplied. Before applying the recommend two coats of varnish, I used acrylic paint pens to add details to my pottery.I am sure that any beginner will enjoy this kit. No previous experience is necessary. All you need is a good amount of patience, for all the drying stages. Good value for money.

Product is great, good quality and alot of fun.Unfortunately our first parcel was lost in the post (can't be helped) but I did have to chase multiple times for replys to get a replacement sorted. A bit concerned if I didn't chase up two or three times I wouldn't of got a replacement at all.

great set to have a go at some pottery.everything is included in the one box and the way its presented would make a good gift to someone as its well boxed and packaged.Some great ideas included in the instructions or you could use your own imagination.air dries to no fussing with ovens or other heat sources.

This set is everything! Has beautiful and simple instructions, everything you need to creat cute pieces and the whole design is adorable.Love love love this and whoever created this set- thank you!
