Not commonly used.
This is pretty good dark red ink, great for when you want a specific dark red. It’s no bargain, but it’s good. I will switch to Noodler’s.

I want to buy their deeper colors, still cute though
I love the color(Corail des Tropique) of this ink. It was one my first fountain pen inks , along with Noodler's Burma Road Brown. So far I really love the concept, packaging and colors of J. Herbin inks. I think maybe the consistency of the actual ink was a little too thin for my pen, a TWSBI Eco T with a fine nib. It works and looks fine but it's a mental adjustment every time I switch from a different brand of ink. I also think a considerable factor of that adjustment is not only the thinner consistency but also the lightness in value of this specific color. I think I'm realizing how great heavily saturated or darker colors are honestly. It's still a gorgeous ink with a fancy aesthetic.

Love J. Hebin
I am a fountain pen enthusiast and prefer using bottled ink. J. Herbin is one of my favorites particularly this color - Violette Pensee. It comes in a plastic bottle, not the usual glass, but the price for the amount of ink that you receive is a great price.

Ships in plastic bottle with wrong label
While I like the ink a lot, it came in a plastic bottle, not a glass one. And the label on the bottle says it's 30ml, not 100ml. Clearly that is wrong. So who is putting this ink in 100ml bottles with 30ml labels? Is this legitimate Herbin ink, or is someone counterfeiting? One way or another, the ink looks great and performs well. I just wish that, at this price, it didn't come in a cheesy plastic bottle with an incorrect label on it.

An inky day indeed
A rosè by any other name would stink like ink

Hard Flow ink
I thought Herbin inks are smooth flow, but this one is not. it's hard flow and will take more pressure to write.

Ink on the go
Perle noire is... a rare find. It has in my opinion all the qualities I look for in a black ink. It flows well, has great contrast, and makes it easier to write on most available paper surfaces. This small bottle is easy to pack and works well with my old snorkel.

So lovely
This tea-coloured ink may not to be everyone's taste, so it is wise to buy a small amount, namely this 10ml bottle.I find the ink delightful as does my husband. It is such a beautiful colour, and writes with such a velvety touch that we will be buying more. It is as unusual a colour as it is rare, one to be savoured for special occasions. I think newcomers to this ink will be delighted.

A little treasure
One has to remember that 10ml is very small, (as small as the standard bottle of essential oil) I feel like perhaps a larger bottle for the same price would be fair. However I love this ink and am prepared to use it sparingly. I had thought I could use it as a drawing ink but there is precious little of it for that so instead I will just treasure this beautiful rare little thing and write with it occasionally.

Reminds you of the colour of blackcurrants just before they are fully ripe
I was fed up with writing in boring old black, so bought as a small bottle to try the colour. I'm hooked. The ink seems to work well in a range of fountain pens. It is a purple ink with a hint towards a red rather than blue hue, so to me it has a bit of warmth in the shade, reminiscent of Blackcurrants just before they are fully ripe, the point at which you have to decide to pick them or risk the blackbirds doing the job for you. Now I'm faced with the choice of buying a bigger bottle or formulating my own recipe. Dilemma ... or perhaps a bigger bottle to use whilst perfecting the formula ...

Bought as a sample an everyday black ink search.
There are a few “true black” ones that are on the market unlike Quink which is more grey and this one is one of my favourites - if not the favourite.I have been searching for a good black ink for everyday use and I like this one, it writes a little bit more “wet” than other inks with the same pen but not really noticeable - but more in the sense that the nib feels smoother rather than the ink being more (ie wet) - it’s almost like a tiny lubricant - which I prefer without using more ink.

It's hard to collect these and stop at 3 bottles- I always have the feeling I am in a sweet shop when selecting a bottle- a huge fan of pen and ink , they are hardly surpassed- if you choose white paper or antique white experiment with soft hues inca lol the brasil and this adorable myosotis blue which is an Edwardian shade and transform your mundane handwriting in to something unique all over again. Greatest quality and each lasts for years.
