Easy to install. Worked right away!
I have two cats that have decided my window frame needed widening. Since I disagreed with their assessment and communication with them has been completely ignored, I stopped talking and took action. First off, there were way more in this package than I anticipated. That being said, I am not unhappy about it. I cut these to size to rest on the windowsill and placed the planters on top of them instead of sticking because I am having replacements installed soon. (No, not because of the felines.) They cut easy even with my dull kitchen scissors, laid flat, and if I had measured differently, would overlap/stack for uninterrupted spikes. This is my first time, so it’s a learning curve, probably why they include so many in the box. They are lightweight, surprisingly pokey, and clear so it’s not that much of an eyesore. The plants rest on them without them collapsing, but they are succulents and not in huge pots. Something that will sit comfortably on a 6” windowsill. It only took an hour before the first repeat attempt at demolition occurred. It was immediately foiled! I was shocked to see a gentle touch to the spike, and then a complete 180 for the decision for destruction. The second attempt came shortly after by the second offender. This one took his time deciding if he could make it work. He found a kink in the chain. And I will be reinstalling them to overlap to prevent what the demon did. He stepped in the gap that was wider than I thought. They also fit nicely on the base of the open window and prevented him from scaling the screen to the open window! June bugs are the bane of his existence as well it would appear because he tried to get them, and was foiled again by pokeys! I want to put them everywhere now. If I thought my husband would let me, I would cover the tables with them to keep the tiny terrors off those spaces as well. Considering putting them on the couch where they think the threads need loosened. That might look way too weird for me though. I imagine they would tack into place well enough if I tried. For sure placing them on the floor around the washer and dryer, and the other window they think could use widening. If need be, would buy again!

EFFECTIVE cat deterrent
The Petfolio 12 Pack Scat Mat for Cats 16 c 13” has been so effective for me that this is the third pack that I have purchased (2 purchases were on a previous account, 1 on this account). I have 8 inside cats and needed easy solutions to prohibit them from accessing certain spots: kitchen counters, appliance tops, and a spot that was sprayed but cleaned with enzymatic cleaner. Mine include some very, very small adult cats that have tried to be creative and walk on the edges of the mats…nope, didn’t work for them lol. They don’t hurt your cats. They are just not comfortable. The spiked parts a thin flexible plastic. I have accidentally stepped on them and the spike broke but just bent over and was easy to stand right back up. The cats absolutely leave them alone now. They are a lifesaver for me! The mats are very light weight, super easy to lay out and pick up for times when you want to remove them. They have been the perfect training tool for my cats and me!

GREAT PRODUCT, BUT MY CAT WAS TOO DETERMINED
I can see how many cats would be thwarted by these scat mats—unfortunately, my cat wasn't one of them. The mats did keep her at bay for a day. When she actually touched them she pulled her paw back and shook it like she'd touched a hot stove. I think these mats would work well for most cats. They were easy to place, and I liked the fact they could be cut (if needed). I think they'd hold up well. I was able to hang two of the mats on the front of a cupboard that my cat kept trying to open. The mats worked at keeping her from pawing at the cabinet. They did not defeat her from walking on the counter. She is a petite cat and she was able to place her paws between the pointed deterrents. Prior to purchasing, I'd read a lot reviews dismayed at the appearance and suggesting cats would suffer. I don't think that's the case because most cats would try once and then avoid. While they didn't work in our case, if you've got a cat you want to keep from an area, I think you should give them a try.

Finally, a cat repellent that works.
These plastic mats work well. Strategically placed, I can finally keep our cats off our car. This was the second Amazon cat repelling mat I tried. The first one was similar but did not work as well and was a real pain to deploy. As others have mentioned, these mats are lightweight and can be easily moved by a light breeze. The individual mats can be weighted down with tape or any lightweight object and they stay in place overnight which is when our cats were climbing on our car. We would wake up to dirty paw prints all over our cars. That’s is no longer the case. An inexpensive fix to a frustrating problem.

Works as intended
I used this to put on the dining room table because my cat has started going up there even though he knows he shouldn't. It definitely works but it caused my cat to freak out and he left a huge scratch on the table... I guess I should have foresaw that. I wouldn't blame the product for it but thought I should leave a warning to maybe have placemats or something on the table to protect it. I have recently cut his nails too so they weren't even that sharp. The ends of the spikes are pretty sharp and I'm thinking of snipping them slightly so they aren't so pointed. I don't want to seriously hurt him, just deter him. It would probably hurt if a person stepped on it by mistake too so be careful if you have children around.

They Work sort of
Let me preface this review with I have an orange cat. If you don’t know what that means they are usually a total menace. He hates these deterrent mats but he just bites the corners and drags them out the way. I hooked them together and he still drags them off the couch. My other cat won’t go anywhere near them until the menace solves the problem. The design is good and they do work for your average non-diabolical cat. But again I have an orange male. I accidentally stepped on one he dragged off the couch and it hurt but didn’t puncture my skin so they are safe. I’m currently weighing down the mats and it has foiled his plans but he will probably work it out eventually. Great idea and design but just a mere annoyance to the smarty cat that won’t take no for an answer.

Cats are too smart for this.
I purchased these to keep my cats off the counter. The issue with these is that the method to which you are expected to connect each pad together is very basic and does not hold without the included sticky dots. They include a fair amount of the sticky dots but over time needing to re apply or move the pads around I can see you running out in less than a year. when you connect the pads together there is enough of a gap between spikes for your cat to place their paws between them and move around freely in your guarded area. I ended up not being able to use them on my counter as they did not cover enough area. So I ended up using them to stop our cats from attacking our house plants by cutting the pads to create NO space between the spikes and applying around the base of the plant on the floor in such a way so the cats can not extend their bodies past the spikes. This worked, however the cats figured out quickly they could just slide the spikes out of their way. Using the sticky dots I stuck the pads to the ground which angered the little helions and they just decided to live with the pain and walk on them to go for the plants. I wish the pads worked but unfortunately they do not. I gave this a 3 star because I think these would work for younger cats but once they start getting around the 4-6 month range I don't think these will work any longer. Good product, bad cats.

Effective
These worked really well for keeping our cats from scratching on the door. The adhesive it comes with however is good when you start but doesn't last.

Didn’t work / poor quality
My cat climbs right on these so it definitely wasn’t what I was looking for :( and the adhesive stickers are super weak so they moved easily and often

Keep cats off
These work great, they keep my cats off my counters. They tried once and never again. Don't worry my cats were fine too, no damage on there paws. They get startled so fast they don't get hurt.

Did the trick…
I put these on top of a shag rug that my cat was doing his business on… He is smart enough to know that he should not walk on them and has returned to doing his business in the litter box. I will leave them out a while longer nonetheless because they are clear and don’t look horrific. I have a multi cat household, and they are all smart enough to not hurt themselves on the mats. Their curiosity was piqued, and they touched them with their paws, but did not make any attempt to walk on them. Me, on the other hand, I accidentally stepped on one, and I nearly did a 360 in the air… Lol.

These are cat toys, not preventative mats...
We set these up to block the babies room from cats that want to yodel the baby awake. Normally, the cats cock-a-doodle-doo at 3am. But this night was different. At 12am, the cats were bulldozing these mats all around the house. I woke up to crazy eyes and perked whiskers shoving these mats everywhere! We tried for a week. Because they're clear, humans suffer the most when attempting to cross. They are invisible!! Nobody was spared. Nope. Returning these cat toys and human torture devices
