Alternate battery comes in hand
I bought the HangTon USB C to LP-E17 Dummy Battery for my Canon R8 camera. The dummy battery fits perfectly inside the Canon's battery chamber, and Canon even has a tiny trap door for the wire through the side. The battery appears to work well. You need a USB C power source that can provide a minimum of 7.4V to the dummy battery. I'm using a power bank for this, but you can also use a AC charger if you prefer. This is a great option to have when you are out and battery dies. However, the Canon R8 also provides a USB C port, so you can charge the Canon battery within the camera, but the battery must always be in the chamber.Overall, I'm quite satisfied with this purchase.

Incompatible with R10 as advertised
I received this unit today and tested it with my R10, but it doesn't turn on my camera. Very disappointed and returning this item now.

Good USB C dummy battery
I got this for my R50 and R8, which both take the same size batteries. I also have a dummy battery that was $5 cheaper but includes a power brick. This one has a coiled USB-C wire with no power brick. The coiled wire is not very long but would be long enough to reach an external USB C battery pack near your camera. For me, I wanted to plug it into a USB C power hub so I bought a separate USB C female to male power wire (under $10 but the reason for 4 stars) so I could use this. The dummy battery powers the camera great and works fine, but make sure you find the little rubber notch so you can properly close the battery door. There are no overheating issues and it seems like it could be used indefinitely (I used it for an hour or two at a time for live streaming). If you have an open power outlet, then I would get the one that's a little less $ that comes with a (proprietary) power brick. If you want the versatility of USB C power, then get this one.
