BRING BACK OF THE GOOD OLD MUSIC BRILLIANT

Great R and R histories from Fats Domino, Gene Vincent and Chuck Berry, much of which had been denied to the 50s teenage audience simply because we did not have music radio like we have today. Back then the UK audience was usually lucky to hear evenings from Radio Luxembourg whilst the Beeb only had less than an hour a week. Most of the music in this CD packge was released in the UK back then, but without any radio to promote it which meant most of it sold poorly. All that would change in the 60s when 'pirate' radio arrived offshore, so the 60s teenager had something positive to listen to, and as a result records in the 60s sold in abundance. I did my record collecting from 1957, but it was the 1960s that caused me to extend my collection right back to those hits and other songs from the R and R 50s. Enjoy!

I got this for a present for my mum has she likes this sort of music.

This is an excellent 3 disc set for under £6. Chuck Berry is just great Rock N Roll, Fats Domino surprised me, 30 really good tracks, Gene Vincent was my least favourite of the three but most of the 34 tracks are quite good although nearly all of the vocals start with ‘Well’. Overall I am very pleased to have this. It also completes the Six Sets. Looking forward to the next triple set.

This a great price for important rock& roll artistsListened to Gene Vincent first because only had 45s “ be-Bob-A-Lula” & “ Lotta Lovin’”He had to contest with Elvis,Buddy Holly,Chuck Berry, Ritchie Valens,Little Richard,Rick Nelson,Carl Perkins ,Bill Haley & the comets and showed in his songsFats Domino & Chuck Berry all their 50’s & 60’s hits here. Only #1 Chuck Berry had“ my ding-a -ling”. Not here because late hit in 1972. . If you like rock& rollCan not go wrong. Lizard
