An Idiot Abroad - Series 1-3 [DVD] [2010]

Totally the best!This series is at its side splitting funny, inane and moronic and totally stupid. BUT with a massive educational aspect to it. It makes the idea of travel to the Travel Snobs as "Ive been there and done it" onto a completely different planet, literally Karl travels really make you see and feel the less sophisticated side of travel and to me far more authentic! How he has been set up is mind blowing gormless and still at times ungraciously sticks to his mission well nearly all the time!!!It could be the other side of an Attenborough or Palin documentary. Poor old Karl doesnt always see the positive side of his friend set up antics but one is totally drawn in. Keep them coming! I still want to know how he comes up with some items like his jungle portable loo??I purchased two sets of dvd but found in both the 1st series dvd had problems adjusting onto my television but worked on my lap top. A present for anyone who needs a pick me up. Thank you

Absolutely LOVE this! Excellent, hilarious and an absolute must watch if you love simple humour :') Here's a random little bit of a rant I made when I was bored haha;Right. So, I bought a box set. I missed the delivery so had to go visit the local post office depot to get it. Got home. Opened the Amazon package. It was encased in plastic wrap (as expected). However, once you open this plastic wrap around the whole thing, each individual DVD case then has ITS OWN plastic wrap. WHY!?!. Oh wait... only series 1 and 2 had it. Series 3 obviously was less likely to escape its case and take over the world. ALSO... the way the DVD cases are placed in the right side of the box with the 'spine' showing...makes you see the BACK of the DVD once you take them all out. Great. ALSO... inside one of the DVD cases... was a little booklet telling you to buy the DVD that you already had because it was inside the exact same case. WHERE'S THE LOGIC!

We love Karl Pilkington, and what can I say - we love this set of DVDs. His humour is so off-beat, and whilst I'm not normally a fan of anything involving Ricky Gervais, I can deal with his presence on these episodes.We watched these when they were on TV, and became slightly gutted when they were no longer available to stream, so I bought the DVDs for my bf for a present - they were a really reasonable price on Amazon, and next day delivery which is perfect.Karl has all number of begrudging adventures, and part of the joy of watching them is trying to figure out if he's learnt to enjoy them yet. Each series is also just as good as the last - well worth it if you like him.

I heard about Karl by watching The Ricky Gervais show. I always got incredibly irritated at Ricky and Stephen for, what appeared to be, bullying Karl. Or, when Karl said something that was perfectly normal and/or intelligent they laughed at him as if every single thing Karl said was expected to be stupid. I do think a lot of what Karl got was uncalled for and if it was staged then it just sets a bad example. Series 1 and 2 of this were great and the special features were fantastic. Series 3 with Warrick left me feeling not as sorry for Karl as I was before. He seemed to bully Warrick. He was condescending, ignorant and discriminatory, and Warrick took it like a complete gentleman.Overall the show was very funny. I needed a laugh. I knew Karl never failed to make me laugh in the past and I recently went through a tough time and I needed a distraction and to have a few belly laughs. This DVD set did not disappoint, but if you like Karl now, series 3 might test that a lot. Series 3 has 3 episodes whereas series 1 and 2 have significantly more.

Outrageous, both season 1 and 2 are consistently funny with episodes having multiple laugh out loud moments. Karl does disappoint me sometimes when he doesn't bungee jump or some other activity but in truth it adds to the comedy. Love how Ricky and Steve find Karl the worst hotel such as in Brazil which just sets up a platform as Karl instantly becomes miserable. The use of "situation comedy" is wonderful and although this is a 15, "older" families, with teenage children can thoroughly enjoy watching this together.On the contrary even though I have given this product 5 stars there is a slight negative, the third season is mediocre, Warwick Davis was a horrible addition and took away from Karl's brilliance. If you were just to watch season 3 once then it is acceptable and still enjoyable.

I have seen all three seasons of Idiot Abroad at least twice on TV, but wanted to watch them again, so buying this when on sale was a no brainer.The first two series are simply the greatest TV ever. Watching poor Karl having to cope with the different aspects of humanity all over the world makes my cry with laughter over and over again.I do think the third series is the weakest as Warrick Davies adds very little to the show other than being genuinely annoying and coming across as a guy who just wants to boost his career and I actually feel for Karl when he moans him.But without the third series you don't get to watch Karls struggles with the wider world in general.brilliant.

You must get this, even if you don't know anything about Karl Pilkington! He is the funniest guy alive!I always put him on when I feel stressed out etc from a hard day at work, and he always cheers me up!Absolutely hilarious.Not only do you get to laugh, you get to see the world, so it helps when planning your next holiday ;).I find that he is actually very honest - so if he doesn't like something, he'll say it! Always useful when planning to go to a place he's visited in the show!You must get it, I guarantee that you'll laugh!

The discs I recieved plays on PS4, and Blu-ray disc player. The people that say it doesn't work, recieved different disc or was putting them on upside down. Karl Pilkington is a very funny man and compared with Ricky Gervais, excellent. Great purchase!

I really enjoyed idiot aboard. Picked up season 1 DVD and wanted the rest but had a hard time paying for them separately as season 3 is only 3 episodes and was going for over $30.00.Like the DVD, I did encounter a few 'hit / miss' issues when playing this on bluray players. I tried 2 sony bluray players which did not work, however, a generic / noname brad did play it with no problems.

Incredibly funny especially the 1st series. Karl travels to the most beautiful & important locations in the world but he fusses over toilets, being inconvenienced, can't see past his own little world. Series 3 adds a travel companion who highlights Karl's strange opinions.

Karl Pilkington is either the legitimate article, or a comedic genius. One of the most entertaining shows of the last decade.
