Love everything sbout this book.

This book is so lovely. Not only are the pictures and the interiors so beautiful, the writing is as well. There are some great stories about love and families, and about shame related to poverty/scarcity mindset/trauma but written in such a beautiful, gentle, and loving way, treating the subjects with so much respect. My life was made better by reading this book, and I flip through it every once in a while just to recapture those same feelings.

Dabito did a wonderful job telling his story through color and design. As a person drawn to more neutral tones and textures, I’m definitely excited to incorporate more color into my home. I appreciate his compassionate storytelling in sharing the importance of home and space as immigrants, and some of its challenges. I was especially moved by the renovation of his mother, sister, and niece’s shared home. TEARS! Beautifully done, Dabito!

As the book was delivered damaged the actual experience of using it was not as indulgent as expected. The content of the book is up to par with the expectations for it. But again, receiving something damaged just takes the shine off of the product.
