Master Grooming Tools Guillotine Nail Clippers — Ergonomic Clippers for Trimming Dogs' Nails, Small

When I thought I was no longer going to be a dog owner, I gave away my fantastic Resco large nail clippers and replacement blades. Since adopting an 11 pound bundle of joy last month, it was evident I needed to purchase a replacement tool and after doing an intense Amazon search, decided to take a chance on the Master Grooming Tools Small Dogs Guillotine Nail Clippers with Textured Rubber Handles, 5-Inch . They are currently a bargain price, and with no reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. A definite plus for me was the made in the USA label and the company website (PetEdge) seemed to be reputable. From the website, "Master Grooming Tools(tm) offer a complete line of innovative pet grooming tools developed to reduce repetitive motion injury and increase productivity." I don't need the productivity, just a good tool, and I found exactly what I needed. To my surprise, the clippers has RESCO USA by the guillotine, and although more petite, they resemble my previous clippers. This is packaged in a lightweight cardboard box with a single paper instructional insert which also has information on replacement blades. I'm all in favor of packaging that is not wasteful and easy to open! The clippers are very comfortable in my small hands and the rubber handles sure are more comfortable than bare metal. The color is very attractive and easy to locate. These work wonderfully and I suggest you grab them while they are still offered at a reasonable price. UPDATE on 2/26/13 Just checked out the product and I see that the price has more than doubled since my purchase. It's still a great tool, just thought you should know.

Over the years I have had many styles of nail trimmers for my dog. I have had guillotine style before but they are usually made of plastic. These are all metal and appear to be very sharp. I was able to cut my dogs nails quickly, which reduces any struggles from the dog. You may have a different experience but I am very pleased with how they worked for me.

Clippers seem sharp and do the job... however I feel a bit cheated here. The clippers are stamped Resco... I believe they are the exact same as the less expensive Resco clippers? I wavered between the Master Groomer and the Resco... and it turns out they are the same!!! LOL!

This is the 5th set of nail clippers (all different brands) I’ve purchased. Our dog likes to find and destroy them if we don’t put them away securely. I hid the last set too well, I can’t remember where I put them, I bought extra blades for them so hopefully the clippers turn up or the blades are compatible with this new set, I’ll figure it out when the time comes. I prefer the guillotine style clippers so that’s why I chose these. They feel safer, and hold the nail more securely. One of our dogs has VERY THICK nails. They don’t taper like our other dog’s nails do, so they have always been tough to cut even if the blades worked well otherwise. This is the first time I’ve had a relatively easy time with the blade cutting cleanly. So I’m pretty impressed. I managed to get through all his nails with no “crushing” sensation, no obvious discomfort other than the general “why are you doing this to me” annoyance. If this set gets eaten, or buried, or otherwise misplaced, I’m definitely going to buy another pair rather than trying a different brand hoping for better quality. Besides the nice easy cut, they are also comfortable, and fit nicely in my hand. So I do recommend these.

These are not large clippers I bought the large and it looks like they were made for cutting the nails of a shih Tzu or a chihuahua do not buy this product if you have a big dog

these worked great for my 60 pound dog that really only needs her dew claws trimmed. Easy to use, cuts cleanly with no effort at all.

Felt like it and looked like it would work well, but was kind of dirty on the end and box was open with the clippers half out. It could've just been a little beat up from the travelling and a little dirty from that as well, but I didn't want to risk it so I'm swapping it out.

My dog generally hates having her nails clipped because she hates the click noise. She also hated the buzzing of nail grinders. I don’t write reviews but this product is extremely nice! It clipped her nail like nothing and makes barely any to no clicking sounds. I can’t even hear her nail clip off. It’s very comfortable using and does it’s job extremely well.

Using these clippers made it so easy to cut my dogs nails! The blade was sharp for a precision cut, the shape seems to balance the pressure, making the experience very comfortable for the dog. Looking forward to only having to change the blade rather than the entire clipper.

These are fantastic i have a 90 lb husky wolf and her paws are gigantic i tried cutting with what i had but my peanut while medium size her paws are not even close to the size of dakotas!! So thank you!

They cut clean cuts and not jagged !!! Very happy with how they work...
