I got this system, because I find I do a lot of impromptu video filming on my iphone (for work I use the MIrrorless with the iphone as backup). Anyway, I thought this might make filming easier, especially for short little things like snippets for video trailers or ads on social media. And I guess it does do that, especially if you are filming outside. This rig is pretty good if you are filming in the tropical daylight of noon because this gives you the shade you need around the screen to really see what you are filming. But I also have a gimbal I usually use, and that makes the iphone much smoother, which is much better in post. So, I guess if you are doing a lot of outdoor shots and have a constantly moving camera like the kids like to do do nowdays, this kit will work well for you and give you a sharper and more accurate filming and shooting experience. If you already have agimbal and don't have that much trouble with viewing the screen and filming, then maybe you can do without this kit.

This cinematographer rig has nice quality and it works as designed; however, it is not automated in any way. It doesn't have Bluetooth features to interact with the phone, so you must manually hit record and you must manually stop recording, which obviously leads to additional editing.The price is 3-4 times the cost of my gimbal, which is automated, so I cannot see buying this over a high-end gimbal.The wooden handle is real wood, and looks good. The video instructions made assembly easier (although, I would likely prefer it to be pre-assembled, and I would like it to be a little easier to put the phone on and off.I have a Samsung S21 Ultra and this rig was accommodating to the size of that phone, but I had to take the protective case off for it to fit.
