From unboxing to first use, the whole experience was smooth and straightforward. The EZ Connect system is genuinely easy. I had my old disposal out and this one fully installed in under 30 minutes — no plumber needed. The wiring was simple and the mounting mechanism twisted right into place without any of the fumbling I've experienced with other brands in the past. If you're even remotely comfortable with basic home improvement tasks, you can absolutely handle this yourself. Once it was up and running, I was immediately impressed by the power. The 3/4 HP motor chews through food scraps — vegetable peels, citrus rinds, even small chicken bones — without hesitation or jamming. I've run it through everything our kitchen throws at it and it hasn't skipped a beat. Not a single clog, not a single reset needed. What also surprised me was how quiet it runs compared to my old disposal. It's not silent, but it's noticeably smoother and less rattly, which I appreciate when the kitchen is otherwise quiet in the morning. The black finish also looks sharp under the sink — a small detail, but a nice one. Build quality feels solid and durable, like it's built to last well beyond a few years of daily use. This has been a solid garbage disposal so far and feels like a noticeable step up from the cheaper builder-grade units. The 3/4 HP motor has plenty of power for normal kitchen use and handles food waste without bogging down or constantly needing to be babied. Also, if you’re replacing an older unit, double-check your plumbing alignment since outlet height can vary slightly. Overall, this feels like a good middle-ground sweet spot: more power and durability than entry-level units without spending premium money, and the EZ Connect setup makes installation much easier.

In 2026, I believe this is the lowest priced InSinkErator garbage disposal that uses stainless instead of galvanized steel for grinding. That was one of my 2 criteria for selecting a replacement for my 8-year-old InSinkErator Badger 5, which had started leaking (the one before that leaked after 3 years). The other important criterion was that it should be an easy replacement, using the same mounting collar and similar positioning of pipes and hoses (although the new unit is a little bit wider). After a couple of Badger 5s in a row that started leaking after only a few years due to the rust-prone galvanized steel, I sure hope this newer and more expensive model lasts much longer. It's definitely quieter and smoother sounding. And I like the black rubber baffle design, which is easily removable from the top so you can clean it much more thoroughly. And the cover over the dishwasher hose connection is on the outside and twists off with the included Allen wrench rather than being on the inside and having to be punched in. This new design is much better to avoid 1) forgetting to knock out the hidden plug before connecting the dishwasher hose or 2) forgetting to fish out the loose plug from inside the grinding chamber. Forgetting either of these things could be disastrous, so this is a nice improvement. However, unlike the Badger 5, which you could buy with an attached cord, you always have to buy a separate power cord with the Power model, but it just slides into place. 9/1/2026 Update: After a couple of months, the sound has changed. Once most of the gunk has cleared and it’s spinning freely, it starts making a high-pitched whistling or whirring sound. I’m still not sure what’s causing this sound, but I hope it’s nothing bad, since it seems to be working OK otherwise.

So far, so good. We purchased the .75 HP replacing our .50 model. It is quiet for the most part. We already had this particular model so assembly was easier than if we would have purchased another brand.

We have not challenged the blades with exceptionally tough food scraps like bones or heavy vegetable peels yet, but it handles all standard daily food waste effortlessly. CRITICAL BUYER INFORMATION ON WIRINGI hired a professional installer to handle the plumbing and mounting process to ensure everything was sealed correctly with zero leaks. One very important thing for other buyers to know before purchasing is that this unit does not come with a power cord in the box. I had to purchase the separate plug-in power cord assembly ahead of time so the installer had everything needed to complete the project. Pros -Noticeably quiet motor performance during daily kitchen use. -Compact footprint that preserves valuable under-sink storage space. -Highly efficient upgrade over standard or older factory disposals. Cons -The lack of an included power cord should be explicitly highlighted on the box for buyers. Final Verdict This InSinkErator appliance provides a very smooth, quiet, and reliable way to handle kitchen waste disposal. Just be sure to add a power cord to your shopping cart alongside it if you do not plan on hardwiring it directly. It is a solid product and comes recommended.

Fit perfectly, Install was easy. Instructions were straight forward easy to understand. Trust me I am not a plumber, I have never done anything like this before, I installed this myself 3 months ago and no leaks and still going strong. Price was excellent compared to Lowes and of course delivered to my door no charge.

Had a Badger 15ss from 2012 that finally rusted out and started leaking...motor was still going strong. Replaced it with this Power .75HP, was easy drop in replacement, didn't have to do anything other than figure out that new connector, but now that that is done, the next replacement will be even easier as the cable will only take 30 seconds to replace, and the rest is super easy, will probably be a 5 minute swap another 14 years down the road :-). I almost opted for a cheaper different brand, but decided against that as I didn't want to do any plumbing...and I'm glad I spend the extra money, saved a lot of time and headache. This one is also slightly quieter than my old Badger 15ss.

Easy install and so far is working very well. My son installed it very quickly. I also purchased a 4-year protection plan so that if it quits, it will be replaced with just the cost of the protection plan. Previously, my other Insinkerator lasted about 4 years. One day, it got very noisy so that's when I decided to purchase this new one. I read tons of reviews including some of the one-star reviews before reaching my decision to purchase this brand. Overall, Insinkerator is a good value and is fairly durable.
