The loop ring wilkie style french link snaffle bit is a very popular bit for ponies in need of extra brakes. The wilkie snaffle has an action similar to a continental, utilising pressure on the poll and raising the bit in the horses mouth to achieve additional control with resorting to a stronger mouthpiece. The loop ring applies this action but to a milder degree, and with a much neater cheek, which is why it has found such favour for use on ponies that need something more than a snaffle. The french link mouthpiece lays across the tongue and prevents the bit jabbing the roof of the mouth, making it ideal for horses that dislike the action of a single joint or have a large tongue or small mouth.

A good bit and ideal for what I needed it for. It gives me a bit more control than a snaffle but still not too harsh. Would recommend and good value for money. Used for a few months now and very pleased.
