Excellent for driving LEDs from Raspberry Pi Picos etc.
These work really well with Arduinos, Raspberry Pi Picos, D1Minis, ESP32s etc, and you can drive them from a GPIO pin via a 1K resistor connected to the base and connect the transistor emitter directly to ground. The collector can then be used, for instance, to drive an LED (in series with a 330ohm resistor connected to 3V3 or 5V) or drive any other passive load up to a maximum of 200 mA. Using these is a simple way to delegate the higher current tasks to other external components so the Arduino etc is not overloaded.
