Bible Study
I looked through this Bible Study. I love the format. The author is new to me. I start the Bible Study on Joshua Tuesday. The price was right for me.

My go to study
This is my second study from this series. I really appreciate the approach this takes- reading and re-reading verse by verse followed by deep, thought provoking questions that require you to sit in the passage and allow the Holy Spirit to stir up in your heart the heart of that scripture. It does not run immediately to application. At the end of each week there are sections of “gospel glimpses,” “whole-bible connections” and “theological soundings” which bring the book into a whole Bible perspective. These short commentaries are thought provoking and so helpful to see each story and character in light of the entirety of scripture. I’m currently studying Joshua. I’m thankful for this study to help me navigate through the moral imperatives this book confronts. Great for group study or individual.

Ok but Not Great
You would think this collaboration of bible study writer greats would put together an amazing study, but unfortunately this is not the case. The study does a good job of getting a reader through the book of Joshua, but like many bible study writers, they fell in the trap of not only asking leading questions to help you draw some of the conclusions they have drawn, the questions use too many indirect pronouns, and so you aren't even sure what they are asking. This happens over and over in this study. Furthermore, the section "gospel glimpses," "whole bible connections," ""theological soundings," and the nebulous "verses you just read" are distracting from what the Holy Spirit may be trying to say and smack of theologians trying to sound impressive, rather than what is it you learned about God and what might God being trying to say to you. This study is no better and no worse than most studies out there.
