They do what I wanted them to do.
Our old secateurs were getting a bit long in the tooth. So I decided to invest in a shiny new pair. The safety catch is sometimes a little tricky to operate, but does work. Certainly they are good and sharp, but the cutting aperture only opens to about 15mm, having said that probably cutting through 15mm branches is probably the limit of what they should do. The rotating handle is OK, but no obvious benefit. Overall I am happy with them.

Beautiful and sharp
These secateurs looked well-made and robust for the intended job. When they were needed they proved to be well up to the task in hand, they cut through really thick privet wood with ease. As can be appreciated the thicker the wood the more force that had to be applied to the secateurs, but they did not fail in their task. The high hedges were quickly brought down to a more manageable height, and with the minimum of fuss. The action of the secateurs was very sweet and made light work of what could have been a heavy and long job. What is even better is that this order was delivered the very next day. I am still surprised at what I was able to do in such a short time, now the hedges are easier to keep in check. Even after doing two hedges these secateurs look as pristine as if they had just been unpacked, and just as sharp. I have no hesitation in recommending these to anyone who does a lot of gardening, of course there may be others that will do the job just as well, but these are likely to cost more.

Decent, sharp, easy to use secateurs
Decent sharp secateurs for a very reasonable £12 (on sale). The twisty handle is a bit of a gimmick in my view, but my wife says she finds it helps with repetitive cutting as you might do when bagging your trimmings. The handle feels to me like it might not last years and years, but it's lasted ok so far and at £12 if I get a year out of them I'll be happy enough.

Be careful they pinch
These are really nice and comfortable until you try to cut something a bit harder. I find the rotating handles draw in the skin of the palm of my hand and pinch it between the handles when I squeeze really hard.

Excellent!!
Can never fault Spear & Jackson products and these are no exception! These replace the exact ones that my Mother left outside at her house last summer, to go rusty and un-usable! Love these! Purchased the matching shears too!

Present for Grandson because I have two identical.
I love these secetaurs. I have a pair for front garden and a pair for back garden because they are easy for arthretic hands, deductible and very efficient. So bought a pair for Grandson.
