Worked beautifully
I used all 6 in my large plant while on vacation. Before using, I watered my plant thoroughly and soaked the spikes. I used 1.5 plastic water bottles. Even in the Texas heat, my plant survived a week. It looks great.

Seemed to work
I used these when I recently went out if town for 5 days and my plants were still alive when I got back in town so they seemed to get the job done. I am not sure that they work as well as the actual Blumats, but they did keep the plants alive for a short time so they were worth it to me.

Inconsistent watering
I don't know if I have to raise or lower my water source, but this product doesn't work consistently. It might be user error though because there are no instructions!

Self watering while you’re away
These are the bomb . The terra-cotta allows the water to distribute as needed! Perfect for traveling and the plants love them. I use them inside and outdoors!

Some knock offs are not worth it
When you get a product with no instructions and have to spend more time working out how best to place, water, etc, you realize they're just not worth the effort and head off in a different direction. That's what i was forced to do. Don't waste your time with these.

Not siphoning for me
I have a lot of house plants and I thought these stakes might help me better keep a couple of them that needs to be watered more often than my usual once a week. There were no instructions included. I have never seen any of these stakes in use. I searched the product listing page for instructions and didn’t find any there. I don’t know if they think everyone has already used this product or why they offer a product without instructions or even a video on using it. So I did see the video for a different brand. So I tried to follow those instructions. I filled the stake up with water while under water and my plants did absorb that water but no siphoning happened. I moved the water supply up higher and still no siphoning. I am already rushed for time everyday and frankly I just don’t have an excess time to keep messing with something that I can’t get to work. It may be my fault they are not working but I will never know because the seller still hasn’t put any helpful information or instructions on their listing page even several weeks after customer reviews said in effect they were needed.

Good Spikes, Bad Packaging
These watering spikes seem to be well-made, and are a lower price than what I have paid elsewhere for the same type of product. I would be happy with them except for one major concern: The styrofoam used to pack these spikes is very dusty and crumbles easily. You can't remove the spikes from the packaging without the foam breaking into hundreds of little pieces. It's hard to get all of the shreds and dust out of the spikes, since the pointed section is so narrow. I had to use packaging tape to collect the worst, and then rinsed as well as I could. I will give it another shot and see if I can get the rest of the crumbles out before I even think about putting it in my garden. While this may not bother some people, it does bother me because I grow mostly edibles and I try to avoid damaging and wasteful packaging like this styrofoam. Honeycomb packing paper (looks like mesh made from paper) does a wonderful job, and is not nearly so damaging as styrofoam.

Great garden helpers
I have a couple of potted plants in my garden that of course don't get watered by the soaker hoses in the flowerbed. I put these in the potted plants and that means fewer trips with the watering can! A little bit pricey, but they definitely get the job done.
