Practice makesperfect
I've been using contact lenses for about 50 years.. (feels like the beginning of time! ) Started out with hard lenses and moved onto soft lenses when they came out. So, I've been using them long enough to have learned and practiced a few 'hacks' because sometimes those lenses will not come out easily! This little plunger was a great idea and I have learned a few things about tricks to remove the lenses from my eye. Removing the lenses has been trickier than inserting the lenses. Most of the time it depends on the dryness of the eye at the time. When my eye seems to be dry, I will rewet my eye with solution before I attempt to remove the lens. If I am using this silicone lens remover, I noticed that I have to place it square on the eyeball. It cannot be placed on the eye at an angle as that will let air into a little area and cause it to not work. It's really tricky. I don't use this inserter/remover all the time. Sometimes I can't seem to pop out the lenses easily, so I grab this little contact lens remover and it usually does the trick.

These have not proved easy to use thus far.
They do make an audible suction, but they don't pull my lenses off my eyeballs. I suppose I should try flooding my eyes with saline solution and see if that loosens up the lenses--it almost seems these need to be a little bigger. Perhaps it would have helped if there were instructions. They came in a tiny cellophane bag and were smaller than I expected. I will keep trying, but so far I am not impressed; honestly, if they can be made to work, I'd say, given the size and the presentation, they should cost no more than $3.35; certainly not $9.95. I sure hope I can get these to work!

good extractor for hard lens
I bought this for use with hard lens and it works great for hard lens. I like that this extractor has a hollow core, this enables user to release suction by squeezing on the handle. I have see this kind of extractor used for hard lens so I'm not sure why it's now marketed as for soft lens. I think this would be too small for soft lens. In addition, I've seen other extractors for hard lens that does not have a hollow core which mean there's no easy way to release suction. Unfortunately, it seems that that style is much more common these days. I'm glad that I'm able to find this one that has hollow core.I took off one star for this because seem like the description for the item is wrong as this item should be for hard lens.

Not useful for me.
Could see how these would be useful for others, but definitely not for me.

These don’t work at all!
When I saw these, I thought they were the coolest idea and couldn’t wait to try them! I didn’t realize they were so tiny, though, and the hard plastic case they come in is kind of a pain - if you’re not careful when you take the cap off, the tiny suction cup slides right out and has almost ended up down the drain in my sink multiple times.I tried removing them from my eyes first, and it doesn’t work at all. It’s capable of a surprising amount of suction, but it doesn’t budge the lenses - it feels more like you’re trying to pull your eyeball out of the socket, and eventually the suction fails and the tool pops off. I tried wetting my eyes with solution first to see if that would work, but nope, it made no difference.I then tried using it to take the contacts out of the case, and that doesn’t work either - it just pushes the lenses around and doesn’t adhere at all. Even when I took the lenses out of the case with my finger, every time I tried to set it on top of this tool, it kept folding the lens in half. I have little silicone tipped tweezers that I use every time I need to take them out of the case so I’m not sticking my fingers in the solution, and they’re so much easier to use than this is.I was hoping these would prevent having to use my fingers at all, and that was obviously a bust. I’ve seen in other reviews that it takes practice to get them to work, but these were supposed to simplify the process, not make it take three times as long while I “practice” - for all of these reasons, I can’t recommend these.

Easy to insert, takes practice to remove
I'm new to contacts, and getting them in and out of my eye has been difficult for me. I spotted this neat little tool while looking for solution, and couldn't help but try it. Cool! My first try putting my contacts in with this was almost effortless compared to doing it with my fingers. When I went to remove my contacts tonight I expected the same, but learned it takes a little practice to "pick them up" from my eye. It was still much easier than doing it with my fingers, and my eyes are thankful for it.Surprisingly good suction and easy to release. No more contacts dropped on the floor. It's a bit small in the fingers, but not awkward. I like that it came as set of three, so I can keep one in my desk, my purse, and at home. Highly recommend.
