I was worried, but the sound quality was every bit as good as when I was using a vintage very high quality amp as a dedicated preamp. I didn't jump through hoops on placement either. I just put it 1 shelf under my receiver, where there's no other units. I didn't need to ground it either. Zero hum and full frequency response. We'll see about longevity, but I'm thrilled with it for now.
