Peugeot 1870418 Paris Manual Pepper Mill Adjustable Grinder - Beechwood, Gloss Black

Throughout years of working in professional kitchens I’ve used quite a few pepper mills. This is the one. 7” when space is tight on the line. 9” when you want to look like a pro.The u-select version is nice for rookies, but the thin wood on the bottom will crack if dropped on the ground. The classic is here to stay. Maybe u-select for home use

I work 10 to 12 hour shifts at an Italian restaurant in Austin, TX.We're very busy during prep and service so we need tools that can keep up with demand.I've gone through 3 pepper mills before this one and this one seems to be the lucky winner.It's a solid body with an unadjustable steel mechanism. Hold a good amount of peppercorns. Only need to refill it twice a day most of the time. It's survived numerous drops and still keeps rolling.Something people might not like about it is that since you can't adjust the coarseness, it starts from a fine grind and with continuous use it gets loose and you get super coarse bits of pepper. You can just tighten the top and it'll be right as rain again.I highly recommend this to casual at home and professional cooks alike if you're in the market for a workhorse mill.

Delighted to find a Black Lacquer finish in the 7" Pepper Mill to match a White Lacquer one with the silver top that was purchased over a year ago.c And all we could find at the local specialty stores were Red Lacquer, Black matte finish, or Light Brown matte finish. This was an anniversary gift request by our Daughter, and worked perfectly.

It does what it claims to do - - grinds pepper. Metal grinding mechanism adjusts fine to course by adjusting knob on top. Simple and highly effective. Have been through many pepper grinders looking for one that really works - - - THE PEUGEOT PARIS CLASSIC REALLY WORKS!

It grinds peppercorns, so in that respect it is better than my last grinder, but the screw on top does not hold its tension so you can pick a grind texture, but it will loosen as you grind until it is basically whole peppercorns coming out. Definitely not the quality I was expecting, and not worth the price I paid/

Solid construction

Nice pepper mill. There’s no substitute for the Peugeot mills. Forget the designer homeware rubbish that costs as much and stick with a manufacturer that has been making them for over a century and just gets it right. Every kitchen should have a Peugeot mill.

At last a pepper grinder which does exactly what it is supposed to do. I was recommended to buy a Peugeot one by a friend who had had hers for many years.

You get the quality you pay for! Stainless steel workings. Excellent. Have bought so many with plastic grinders that fail within months!

Peugeot has been reliable for us in the past, but this one did not work and so we returned it.

Después de dos intentos, lo devuelvo definitivamente.El primero llegó con una marca de pintura levantada en la parte inferior del logo. Parecía de madera lacada en negro brillante, y bajo la pintura aparecía un color blanco.Pedí el cambio por otro nuevo. Hasta aquí bien, un error lo puede tener cualquiera.Pero el segundo llegó con:1) Una marca similar en la parte inferior del logo. Esta vez el molinillo parecía de plástico (me hace dudar de la autenticidad de los productos de este vendedor).2) La parte de arriba totalmente abierta (tapón y rosca sueltos por la bolsa, que esta vez no era ni de burbujas)3) Y agarraros, ¡Con bolas de pimienta desperdigadas por el embalaje! (lo que me hace pensar que alguien lo usó, lo devolvió y no se lo han ni mirado.No recomiendo para nada este vendedor, no sé si tienen productos defectuosos, de segunda mano o incluso imitaciones, pero prefiero comprarlo en la casa oficial de Peugeot.
