the cutest small town boy meets city girl romcom💖💖
Mel has worked hard to make a career for herself as a fashion and lifestyle influencer but after all these years her following is dwindling everyday. In an effort to stay relevant, Mel takes up a collaboration deal with a beautiful resort in a small fishing village of Canada. She is hoping that this one week trip will give a new direction to her brand even though nature is not really her thing. But when her dates gets mixed up, Mel ends up at an even smaller village and finds herself in the company of surly and rude fisherman Evan, also the owner of her not-in-the-best-condition bread-and-breakfast. When Evan ends up in a boating accident while saving Mel, she is mistaken as Evan's fiancée by his feuding yet welcoming family. With hopes of ending this feud, Evan and Mel agree to pretend to be engaged for a week while Evan will help her with creating content. It's only for a week after which Mel will go back to her life and Evan's life will go back to as it was, but will it really? 👀This was the third book in Amy's influencer series and definitely my favourite of the lot. Here are the things/tropes that made me absolutely giggle and swoon over this book and over Mel and Evan-🌊 While You Were Sleeping meets The Proposal🌊 Small town romance🌊 Small town boy 🤝 city girl🌊 fake dating🌊 grumpy x sunshine🌊 forced proximity🌊 some great 🌶️🌶️🌊 banter🌊 chemistry 🔥🌊 meddling family 🫶🏻I honestly did not expect to enjoy this book as much as I did. It did make me all giggly and wish that it would be adapted into a romcom because ohmygod it would be amazing to watch Mel and Evan come to life on screen. I love both While You Were Sleeping and The Proposal (duh!) and this book was the perfect combination of them. Mel and Evan were the absolute sweetest couple and they had some real palpable chemistry ngl. I already love Amy's writing and I cannot wait to see what she writes next ✨🫶🏻Thank you so much @penguinindia for sending this my way 💖

One of the best Romance novels!
BRB, GIGGLING BLUSHING AND LAUGHING MY BREATH AWAY! Wow, what a conclusion to the Influencer series! I had a ton of expectations going into this one, and needless to say, it lived up to every single one of them and some more! I am nothing if not a huge fan of Amy Lea’s quirky and hilarious writing style and she definitely knocked it into the ocean with this book!If you’ve read the first two books in the series already, Melanie Karlsen needs no introduction. When Melanie’s hotel booking gets mixed up, she ends up in an AirBnb in a fishing village in Nova Scotia and much to her dismay, the owner of the B&B, Evan Whaler, clad in plaid and broad-shouldered(and very very hot) is as arrogant as they get. When a weird turn of events lands Evan in the ER, Mel lies about being his fiancée to his entire family. Girl, what were you thinking?! You can’t stand to be in the same room as that man and you lied FOR him? Does Melanie succeed at this fake engagement game? How will she save her career and help her brother out? And to make matters worse, she might be falling for the one person she never thought she would! Before I spill all the beans, pick up the book and find out for yourself! Hurry, hurry!I love me a good romance novel that will constantly tickle my funny bone and add another book boyfriend to my never-ending list and also make me blush and giggle from time to time! The Catch is definitely ticks-across-the-board!Fake dating/engagement is one of my favourite romance tropes(up there with enemies-to-lovers) and it was seamlessly executed in this book! Full of hilarious banter and am-I-even-faking-it-anymore situations, you can’t help but smile secretly as you fall in love with Mel and Evan over and over again! We all have moments where we hope for that tiny spark with someone who is not fictional but close enough to being as perfect as fictional men and this book is bound to ignite your imagination in every way!Evan, must you be so perfect? You’re now on my list of book boyfriends that never seems to stop getting longer! While Melanie navigates her fake engagement with Evan, a shocking realisation hits her: not only is she falling hard for Evan, she’s falling in love with his entire family too! The Whalers are such a wholesome bunch and they will have always have a place in my heart! And Nana, what with her sass and queen behaviour, definitely takes the cake! While this book is light-hearted and fun most of the time, it doesn’t shy away from addressing the hardships in life. Melanie’s brother Julian’s struggle with depression struck a chord with me. Another highlight for me is how the author handled grief in the story. Melanie and Evan have their own mechanisms of coping with grief and this goes on to show a very important aspect of grief: how it manifests differently in different people and how everyone has their own way of processing it.This review would definitely be incomplete without a shoutout to Cora’s Cove and its kind bunch of people! I have an intense urge to go to Nova Scotia and do some whale watching! Hailing from a big city, I’m always in awe of close-knit communities in small towns and villages where everyone knows everyone else. I am craving some poutine right now! There are cameos from the Chen sisters: Crystal and Tara, and their partners too! While this book reads perfectly well as a standalone, the cameos make more sense and you will enjoy them if you’ve read the first two books! So, that’s definitely a perk!If you’ve read up till here, I’m sure you have plans of picking this book up! And don’t worry, it’s definitely a ‘catch’! 😉Huge thanks to Penguin India for sending me a copy for review! <3

a very cute rom-com
The Catch by Amy Lea is the third book in 'The Influencer' Series. A grumpy lobster fisherman tosses a fashion influencer’s impeccably curated life overboard in this romantic comedy. Boston fashion influencer Melanie Karlsen finds herself in a rural fishing village on the east coast of Canada.Evan Whaler — the burly and bearded bed-and-breakfast owner and fisherman, Mel in an boating accident finds herself being faked as Evan's fiancée. A mutually benefit arrangement is made, where he helps her with the social media and she helps him with family.I enjoyed reading the previous two books in this series more than this third installment. This one can be called as the perfect example of grumpy x sunshine, fake relationship and enemies-to-lovers combination done well. I loved how we see their chemistry built slowly and steadily. Overall a pleasent rom-com you can quickly read.

Re-ignited my passion… for reading!
Picked up this book before a trip to Iceland that was much too action-packed for reading. Finally picked it up the other day as a way to spend less time on my phone and I could barely it put it down until it was done! As a Mélanie (albeit a Canadian one), I got a kick out of twinning with the protagonist, and my hubby (who happens to have another 4-letter E name!) really appreciated the spicy mood this put me in….Will definitely check out more books by Amy Lea and in the romantic comedy genre at large after this one!

Girly Girl Mel meets Grumpy Fishermen. More spice than fishing 🎣
💭 THOUGHTS: 💭 I have to admit that I read this simply because fishing was pictured on the cover. I still loved it! I only took the half star away because I personally wanted more fishing (only 5% 🎣) 😂 ✨✨It was so sweet when he taught her how to cast! ✨✨The comedy in this one was top tier but I did have to fast forward through a LOT of spice! If you do closed door romance this is not for you! The FMC was relatable and lovable (even if she was scared of bugs) She has a hard time/wont let people love her because of the fear they will leave her (and doesn’t realize it almost until it’s too late) Without spoilers, this is def a HEA! 🎣This is book three of a series but absolutely can be read as a standalone.🐟 enemies to lovers🪱 fake dating🐟 grumpy sunshine🪱 Nova Scotia locales🐠family drama🪱trauma healing🐟touch her and die (kind of)🐠NSFW (more spice than fishing)🪱found familyTWs:-death of a parent-alcohol misuse-foul langua

Took me by surprise…
The Proposal meets It Happened One Summer with a son of swoon-worthy moments…📕 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The Catch by Amy Lea📙 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀: The Influencer Series. Book 3.📗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: E-book on Kindle, courtesy of Libby.📘 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗿𝗲: Contemporary Romance📔 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: Small town / city girl, opposites attract, all of the banter, fake engagement, insta-love, enemies-to-lovers.📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Melanie travels to Nova Scotia for an influencer trip, but a mistake leaves her with no place to stay. Her only hope is a room at an old B and B, and she’ll have to deal with the grumpy owner, Evan.🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book. I’m a frugal girly, so I give trad-published books a little bit extra scrutiny… and this one stood up to it.I was skeptical because it seemed a little too much like Tessa Bailey’s It Happened One Summer, but the more that I read the more I fell in love. Melanie and Evan are two great, multifaceted characters. They are easy to fall for.Once I got to the 50% mark in this one, I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to pick up the others in the series - rest assured, this can be read as a standalone, because I had no idea it was even in a series… woops!𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹: 3/5 🌶🌶🌶
