I used to be a runner, then moved to Nordic walking
I used to be a runner, then moved to walking and cross training when running got to be too much on my whole body. For some time I have been intrigued by nordic walking, wanting to add some intensity to my walks. I've read alot on how the Europeans all NW, and of all the great health benefits of it. I searched Amazon and settled on York Nordic's poles. I have been using them now for three months. I walk twice a week for 45 minutes, more if I have time. I am officially a convert and I am very pleased with the quality of these poles. NWing easily raises your heartrate without much noticeable difference to the intensity of your workout. I've noticed some weight loss, but that is not my #1 goal. The poles are very well made. The gloves adjust easily and the clip is easy to lock in and disconnect as needed.I noticed in some of the reviews people complained that the color of one of the poles is an adhesive sticker and not imbued into the pole itself. I did notice this, and noticed the sticker does not adhere real well in places (see my pics), but this is not that big a deal to me. It does not change the function of the poles. I just push it back into place and it stays for a while. Here are my pros and cons for these poles:Pros:-Rugged, solid build.-Adjustable 2 piece-Nice carrying bag so the poles aren’t scattered in your trunk-tips are rugged, and omnidirectional, so it doesn’t matter how they are seated on the tip. They will work any way they are on the ends.-glove is easy to get on.-clip is fairly easy to use, getting on and off the locking mechanism.-I was a bit skeptical of the cork handle, but it works very well. My hands grip well and don’t slip when sweaty.-I do like the length locking system. My other poles have a twist lock, and that works okay, but I do like being able to adjust the pole and just flip the clip and lock it where it is.Cons:-poles are a bit heavy. I may try carbon fiber next time.-clip requires some fine motor skills to get it into the locking area. Could be a problem for some people.Summary: I’m glad i chose these poles, and would buy them again. I may do so, to replace some of my trekking poles that are getting old. I recommend you buy them and get out there and Nordic Walk. It may look strange to some passers-by, but so did running and bicycling when it was novel.

Great product
I am 75 yrs old with one titanium hip. I am thrilled to find Nordic walking. Having the poles gives me a degree of security ( even though they mostly drag behind.) I walk taller and at a steadier pace. I like the little effort when planting pole on push-off stroke, giving my arms and core a little workout too. These were easy to adjust following the instructions. Like the fun print and color. I appreciate the ease and comfort and security of the straps. All around terrific purchase. Very pleased

Perfect walking poles
Light, strong and comfortable the 2 section design allows for easy adjustment for footwear of different sole thickness: from lightweight low profile walking shoes to heavy duty backwoods hikers you do not have to switch poles. The Nordic straps are easily adjustable and can slip over thin gloves like XC ski gloves so one can walk with warm hands on coll days. Tip choice is an easy swap, just pull the all way round rubber tips to reveal the carbide ends and again easily make a micro adjustment for proper fit. Company support and info is first rate, very helpful, I would highly recommend this affordable pair.

Really like the poles
I bought these initially to use as defensive tools. I lived in a rural area where there was an occasional dog who would menace me. I found I really enjoyed walking with them once I got the rhythm down and they did work well to keep that mean dog at bay (I also carry pepper spray now too). They also help me keep better posture while walking.
