Brilliant pigeon deterrent - but you must top-up

I discovered accidentally that lavender keeps pigeons away which is brilliant because they have been messing up my doorway and patio for months. You need to use this weekly because the smell fades after a while. I'm 100% sure lavender is a true deterrent rather than just covering up the pigeon pheromones (which attract other pigeons): when I used Jeyes fluid alone it didn't work. Such a God-send.*UPDATE* it seems the deterrent effect was only temporary - or at least doesn't work on all pigeons. However I have added some black pepper and cayenne into the liquid and this seems to do the trick.
