Expensive but highly rated product.
I decided to spray this on to full sized, horizontally slatted fence panels with a decorative latticed curved top. The first side took 1.6 litres, one can covered 5 sides after adjusting nozzle pattern and flow. It’s expensive stuff, not quite sure why, but anyway, it’s very highly rated and the fence panels were expensive, so worthy of a couple of coats. It’s a very thin consistency and rapidly soaks into the wood so I think spraying is the most economical and best option. One panel takes about 2 minutes to spray! I bought a 400W Von Haus Spray Gun off Amazon, a really good bit of kit, and very easy to use. Ordinary white spirit will clean the gun after use.

Nice natural finish
I sanded my really grotty-looking shed back to fresh(ish) pine and then applied this in two coats to stop it discolouring in future. I don’t know if it will work, but my shed looks natural instead of dyed and I can see the woodgrain better for the preservative. I needed double the amount I thought I would, but I am very happy with the look. The product (clear) makes only a very small difference to the woods appearance so don’t use it if you don’t already like the look of your shed or whatever. (I gave 5 stars for its water resistance and value for money qualities but I have no idea really. It is easy to use however (my shed was bone dry) and doesn’t smell of much.)

This may look a little expensive
This may look a little expensive and it is worth every penny. Easy to use one small point if you have never used this wood soaks it up like a sponge, which means you more than likely to use double what you may think you need. When you have applied the second coat it looks great, where I will save is I will not need to buy any coloured stain for my shed and side garage door, I will put on a third coat as I said worth every penny.

Absolutely lovely!
Arrived on time. Could not be happier, was very confused about buying this product before we tested a small 1Ltr bottle first. What we were sure if is if it would change the colour of the wood even though it’s a natural. It does feed the wood and bring out a lovely natural colour back to the fence panels. What isn’t clear is that if you are using this to paint fences, this is a pretreatment and you will need to buy another product to help prolong its life.

Does exactly what it says on the tin 😊
Delivery was quick. I am making a house sign to replace our old rotting one. Product went on well and dried quite quickly. So it was easy to give my wood 2 coats. I can’t comment on the wood preservation part of the product because I’ve only just applied it.

This is the ideal preservative to apply to bare wood ...
This is the ideal preservative to apply to bare wood before treating with an appropriate outer coat as per instructions on tin. Obviously it is a clear liquid so it penetrates and the rate of absorption is frightening with the first coat on dry wood but at least you know it is going in. After allowing the 2 coats to dry (as per tin instructions) it took a coat of fence water based fence "paint" without any problems at all. Whilst the product is expensive, as with other other Cuprinol products, I am sure that it will do the job. The price at Amazon was about £15 below that of a national DIY store so grab it whilst you can.

DIFFICULT TO OPEN & POUR
I've relied on Cuprinol for years as my go-to wood preservative. It does the job. However It is not at all easy to open or pour. The plastic ring-pull is very resistant to being removed and it tends to run down the can when you pour it. Why can't it have a spout?
