Wood burning paste
Works great.

Doesn't work.
Didn't work at all. Burned the board before I could see the faintest of designs. Tried thicker and thinner coats. Nothing. The gel burns, the wood underneath doesn't. Don't waste your time or money. Horrible quality, difficult to use, the texture is too thick and small jar, the result is not good looking. You will not get any value for your money of you buy this.

Wasn’t what I thought.
I thought it would have more of a ‘burnt’ look.To me, it looked like I simply used an ink/stamp.Also kind of trial and error-don’t use too much or not enough.

Maybe operator error
Meh. Basically everything I tried this with it just wipes away. It burns the product but not the wood underneath. It's really impossible to say if that's the fault of the product or the heat gun, but I bought the heat gun for this specifically and it's enough to burn me and plastics and wood surfaces give enough time so I feel like it should be enough to get the product to burn unfinished wood and burn an imprint into that wood before all of the wood catches on fire. I also tried doing it twice by applying the product, heating it up to where it looks all black, wiping it off and applying it again. I don't believe the wood itself is actually burned and the effect just about disappears if you put a varnish or apply water. So if you're doing this on a coaster or a cutting board the first time it got wet you wouldn't be able to see it. I feel like the price was pretty high here to discover that it wasn't something I could effectively use and that could absolutely be operator error. But for me this purchase didn't return the value I would want for the price.

Interesting stuff
I thought this was a fun project. Definitely mess around with the amount you use. You can tell I went lighter on the top half. I still love it though.
User
Works great, even at low temp
I was worried this wouldn’t work for me since it says to use a heat gun that goes up to 1000 degrees. In a pinch I could only find one that goes up to 400. It still worked and my crafts turned out so cute. I used a brush to apply the paste due to bleeding I had under my template with the tool provided.
